  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

TERADEK Cube/Bundle - Group Buy!

So we've been working closely with Teradek and have organized a special one-time group-buy promotion for Reduser.net forum members during Reducation to buy the Teradek Cube at a great discount.

Basically the promotion breaks down like this:
25 units sold = 10% off
50 units sold = 20% off
100 units sold = 25% off

They're throwing in the Proxy Recording software upgrade in for free on this Group Buy only, which as of now is $300 extra, so there's some more savings as well. Each unit (Encoder or Decoder) will count as one unit towards the group buy so if you buy the (Cubelets) bundle it counts as 2.

A few things from Teradek:
- Teradek's new decoders are available now, meaning 50 users buying 1 pair of Encoder/Decoder bundles each will get us to our 100 unit goal.
- Cube Encoder/Decoder bundles are already 10% off, this discount is on top of the 10% bundle price.
- The RED Proxy Recording software is going up in price in January and will be $900 bucks.

The sale lasts only one week Wednesday December 8th to Thursday the 16th, and Teradek won't charge your card until the sale ends.

Also, whats the RED proxy recording software? IS it different to the standard recording software?

Yes, the end of the sale is the end of the group buy so we really have to pull it out!

Watch the link to the other forum post for all the details about Proxy recording and use. Much easier to watch that than to type it ;)

There's no list. Just post here what you're getting and then place the order at the Teradek store. They'll tally the orders at the end of the sale and announce here how many we managed to "order"

ya that sounds a bit silly.... there should be a list or something - not gonna gamble to know if i get the discount - need to be sure 100%
 
I'm sure I can get them to do something regardless as they want to sell units, but it won't be at the aggressive discounts for the larger group buy.
I'll manage the list if anyone who actually places an order on the Teradek store site can then post that here I'll cull and keep the list current so we can track numbers.

Is the Red proxy software immediately available with the product? Couldn't find any info about it on their website. How do you go about getting a hold of it?
 
Do I want both the encoder and decoder?

If we hit 50, I'm probably in, if we hit 100, I'm in for sure. Any additional discount if you take both the SDI and HDMI version? :)
 
I'm going for at least an order of the Cubelet...encoder/decoder...so there's +2, but I might get another pair, if we're closer to the larger group discount.

I've been tracking this device for a while. Actually just two days ago I had a long conversation with Nicol in order to answer some specific questions and get the low-down on what we need most for our on set workflows. He was helpful and patient with my barrage of questions. Thanks Nicol!

I hope we get a lot of folks on board for this sale :)

Steven, from what I understand the Beta of the proxy is available immediately, but the release version will be for purchase in the new year at $300 if you bought before the end of 2010. If not it will be $900 for the proxy software.
