We actually did just that today... It is a very nice package, the Leica's fit like a glove.

Great news!

EPIC S35 5K + Leica Summilux-C primes are going to be leading 3D lightweight rigs in Hollywood for the next 3 or more years for sure...

nice!!! looks just like the new iPhone 4 coming out! all shiny and stuff which BTW i think Apple is trying to get in the high resolusion industry with their 720p 30 fps resolution video thats comes with the new phone!!! so be on the loook out ^^

Awesome. Can't go wrong with titanium. Not only does RED create sweet images but you also look sweet creating them.

Do the titanium mounts cost a premium?

Yes, Raw Titanium costs 18x more than aluminum, and Machining Titanium is much more difficult.. its slower to cut and goes through a ton of bits.

Titanium is actually heavier than Aluminum, but it is much stronger so you can make the pieces thinner to get the same strength ratio. The real win with a Titanium mount is it has a lower expansion with temperature than aluminum does, so your flange distance stays consistent in very extreme variations.

Thank You Jarred,

Music to my ears.

Amazing choices.

GO RED

Thank You

So, will that change the price of the Epic? Like the price as we know it now is with an Aluminum but if I choose Titanium will I have to add to my costs?

...and by the way Jarred, I think it is a good and smart move.
I must confess I had a full belly on Red when I first received my two Red One cameras.
I have been quite enjoying working with these cameras for the last two years, I still think there is a lot of room for improvements but on the overall the Red cameras paved their way into the industry.

Do you have to get an aluminium PL mount with your Epic or can you forgo that for an onobtanium PL or a Nikon or Canon if that's your choice?
