  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

[FS: OPTICS] Zeiss Ultra Primes (Set of 5) - NEW - Priced to sell!

that's rung Phil i personally had th UP 16 mm and used it on Epic it's vignetting on 5k only cover 4k.

Right. On Epic MX.

But on Epic DRAGON it will cover 5K (equivalent FOV to 4K now on MX). And possibly 5.5k.

Remember, coverage that is now 4K on Epic...will be 5k on Dragon
And what is 5k now on Epic...will be 6k on Dragon.

Hope this helps.

Seems a little too simple Nick. Are you sure about this?

So take any lens, if it covers 5K currently on Epic MX, it will cover Dragon 6k?

Norm,

Are there two types of Ultra Primes? Ultra Primes and Ultra Primes LDS?

Anyone familar with how the LDS works exactly? My RPZ18-50mm provided the focal length as meta data in RCX. Something similar with the UP LDS?

No, I didn't mean that...apologies.

I meant...

WHEN USING THE SUPER-35 IMAGE CIRCLE: is 4K on Epic, will be 5K on Dragon (this is why the 16mm Ultraprime will cover 4K on Epic...but 5K on Dragon)

WHEN USING FULL SENSOR: is 5K on Epic, will be 6k on Dragon. Obviously the Dragon sensor is larger than MX, so coverage will be more challenging for some lenses...especially at wider focal lengths (wides often have smaller image circles than longer focal lengths....which is why most lenses 35mm and up appear to cover Dragon fine).

Hope this helps.

Yep, there are non-LDS and LDS. The LDS ones are more expensive and less common. The LDS ones have the yellow witness marks on the barrel and LDS laser etched on there as well.
