  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Your first Scarlet project?

How rude of me to make the thread and not even mention what i'm going to be doing lol.

Lot of action sports for me as well. Skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, etc.
Can't wait to shoot some 3k 120fps for some sick slo-mo shots. I can only imagine how nice and smooth oversampling 3k 120fps must be for 1080p and 720p output...

If the scarlet fixed kit will be released soon enough, my school may buy one and I could use it for my graduation film next year.

You lucky devil.

It's going to be a while before I can afford one. Which is a good thing. Before the time I am able to buy one, I will be able to read all the reviews and see if there are any problems with them at initial release.

I just hope RED doesn't let me down. The great-white hype machine is infectious.

I (and I think I speak for many) would love to see the results of those tests. Any plans to put online your findings?

As for me, I'm looking to pick up a Scarlet 2/3" to utilize in short films and indie features.

I definitely plan to post the results, I don't know exactly how yet. May look to a third party FTP site rather than posting large file sets to Red sites. Just have a complete file folder for each lens in one place for download and link to that in a thread here and at Scarlet user. Probably will sell off most of the lenses afterwards too.

Our goal with the Scarlet is to make really terrible movies ... our stuff is so bad that most of our 35mm tape goes into the trash, so the Scarlet can hopefully save us a ton of cash! I like the idea of just using my "delete" key.

Refreshing honesty.

hooking up to a medical tube camera thingy and exploring my inner rectum for some hi-def imagery

that will be new exciting and clever. I have a few friends in West Hollywood whom will be much obliged to give you a hand

if you do that you can use that footage as the background in the greenscreen and use it as the inside of an alien space ship. who knows maybe you could win an award

I'm going to go up to the Redwood forest and shoot some beauty plates of the trees.
Then I'm going to camera track the footage and insert some photo reel 3D stuff into the plate. Possibly create a crowd sim or two involving mechanized insects.

Shooting my desk at work. I assume that I'll ship it to my office so that someone is sure to be available to sign for it. :D

Shortly followed by parking lot shots....

Followed by some shots of the waterfront as I make my way to th ocean. :D

That's going to be a highly unproductive day.

Probably first actual project will be a scifi short.

I inteend to shoot a documentary and also use my scarlet as an cinematography learning tool since ive been doing television and not movies...
