  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Your first Scarlet project?

I'll be shooting my first feature on it. The script is nearly finished.

Holodad-
When their transport crashes on a lifeless planet, a detached teenage girl must protect her siblings from a holographic father with deranged paternal programming.

Its pretty VFX heavy. I think about 90% of the shots have cg in them.

A variety of things for me, on the 2/3" (probably fixed lens).

Music videos, mostly, probably some family vacations, and maybe a mini-documentary here or there.

But really though, I think I'm going to die of anticipation waiting for this camera to come out! :D

I think I'll shoot some out-of-focus stuff, with tons of audio sync problems. Blown highlights and massive camera shake.

After that, when we've become friends, who knows. I want to do some documentary work, which seems the good place to start building skills before wasting other peoples time recording bad fiction.

We did a historical tram ride yesterday. Small museum lines like that just beg to be shot on Red, all the wonderful detail and interesting people working the lines and the yard.

Ultimately, I want to shoot a short film. But I only have vague script ideas for that. No hurries.

I have a dramatic short I would like to shoot someday. The basic plot outline has been developed for some time, but I only recently fleshed out the character conflicts that drive the story.

I guess the first things I'll do will be looking at what the first users will do and say about the camera. Then, if I'll buy it (as I'd like to do - while I like it, I'd like to turn my EX1 into a "B-camera" for my gigs), I'll just test it ferociously for a couple of months, seeing how the thing performs in several conditions and what can be done in post.

I'm going to start two things. If I get it before football season ends, I'll be using it for some sports videos. Whenever it gets here, though, I'll start shooting a (not terribly short but still not feature length) film I've been scripting and storyboarding lately.
