  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Your FIRST Scarlet Project?

I'm actually going to do my own interpretation of Tarkovsky's "Stalker".
Call me pretentious, but I have a plot that I believe in. (It's not Stalker, it's something else, but based on the same idea of a Zone and a stalker)

That's one out of thousands of project that I'm thinking of...
Scarlet actually brought some fuel into my feature film ideas I've put on my shelf, so I'm probably going to do alot of things with it.
 
what better way to do a short of how Red and Scarlet f#$%ed up the industry and opened opportunities to the indie world. Right in the other manufacturers faces who held back most features we all wanted.

I suppose I'll buy one for myself for shooting home movies, kids in the back yard, that sort of thing... All the same stuff I plan to do with my RED One, if mine ever ships...

i'd be very interested in following this project's development. I named my production company 'Sabi' after Tarkovsky's description of the word in 'Sculpting in Time'.

Well, I just have the plot outline so it's not fact that it's going to be made. Have to see how this year and next unfolds itself with work and personal life.
But I'm writing on several ideas and for the moment I feel mostly for that one.
I have another about a gun that talks... :) very simplified though

Actually worked with a cinematographer that worked as a lightning crew on one of Tarkovsky's movies... The sacrifice I think.
He was there when they burned down the house and forgot the film in the camera :) (If you heard that story)
 
I'll try to do a short clip of our next theatre production after Scarlet's launch. Been toying with getting an HV20, but from past experience with photography, compression really messes stuff up, and i'll be working in low light. My biggest worry is that the lighting is mainly tungsten, so i'll end up with a lot of noise in the blue channel from what i gather in the forums…

First project once Scarlet and the WA adaptor is out will be a bunch of timelapse for stock, probably comping it and bringing in slo-mo elements for some shots.
 
Yeah, maybe I should sell timelapses to clients? I know television needs alot of things that would be too expensive to let second units go out and shoot.
 
Anybody back in reality time, like now, shooting anything on a real camera?
