  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Your FIRST Scarlet Project?

BTW my Aussie mates Kel & David did a $50K USD DV(SD!!!) production "Reign in Darkness" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0351639/). If You read the description/plot summary You will get the same reaction that they can't be serious. I am not saying that their work is (or is not) "professional", but just consider that this "straight-to-DVD" flick have made so far over $ 5 million USD...

What I give a kudos to them for is that they did go "out there" and actually did something. Most people only dream about doing films and criticize the ones that actually do it...

I think Scarlet is going to be perfect for such efforts...

:) yeah, haha! believe it or not, these are actual projects in development. admittedly, the working title "Fingerbang My Heart" is pretty ridiculous. but it makes me laugh (and others blush). i've made two features and a short. i'm currently in post on my third feature, a little motion picture I shot in November 2007 called "Heart of Now". here's a little footage...

i think by that you can get a feel for the type of films I'm toiling away on. the stories i described above were inspired by people I know or have known. not original enough to just pull stories out of thin air unfortunately. i hear Kevin Smith has a picture about a couple running an amateur porn site too. bastard.

:usd:

i don't know anything about it other than my buddy, John T. Woods, had a lead role in it. John, by the way, is the lead in "IFHY".

Cool site - IFHY.

I saw the trailer on the short-lived scarletuser.net.

Very interesting.

What gear was used - cameras, adapters, lenses?

are you sure it was there? maybe dvxuser? anyway, IFHY was (to be perfectly honest) a total throwaway that has grown into much more than we ever expected. I spent a whopping total of $40 on its production, to cover the cost of some Indian food for the five of us. the rest was made with available resources -- two HV20s with 35mm adapters attached, all lighting was from strategically placed practicals. shot it in four hours. the response has been amazing. even those dunderheads at Aint it Cool News had nice things to say about it.

Cool!

Can the movie be seen somewhere...you know? :)

Sorry, haven't checked the DVXUser thread yet [sometimes I'm afraid of huge threads].

I will now! :)

There goes Zak, stealing all other Scarlet Hopeful Zac's Thunder :) :)

I'm getting 2 Scarlets for Psychological? Thriller

and a plethera of good movies

Maybe, once scarlet comes out, we can all have a Zac/Zak/Zach/Zack/Zackh and Zakch Production...

I have a couple feature projects in the works that I would love cut my teeth with the red workflow on using the Scarlet, then bump up to a Red One or Epic. I think this camera is gonna open doors and give alot of people the chance to do some features at a much lower price point.

bwaaa! it's a zak attack!!!

everytime i see a thread with someting about "IFHY".... i look around the room, just to check to see no ones watching me... like "Whos on a hateSITE!"

and yes to the Zac(k) Attack... Lets collaborate... from East to West Coast
