  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB: Mattebox

lots of good options so far :)

i did not want to have to change rods with every lens change. Sometime we want to change out lenses a lot and having the clearance under the mattebox is very handy.

This is also why I sold my MB20. I wanted to use 15mm LW rods with the Red Modular Assault Plate.

Yeah any lw 15mm full rotating filter stages will not allow rods to slide under. You would need studio 15mm or 19mm and have no issues. That's not exclusive to one matte box.

I really should say that Andy at bright tangerine was really kind and even offered to ship me a demo unit.

I just went with the prime circle, because it is compact, it's light, so when you clip it on it does not put a ton of stress on some still lenses and it came as a ver complete package with a 15mm studio option down the road. I like that it can move as you focus, that is a bonus when using certain still lenses and it has wide coverage of 15mm on the epic (until dragon shows up I guess).

it surprised me with its design and build quality and their service was also top notch. Dante, the designer worked in production for many years and so he build a compact lightweight unit that he had been dreaming about.
