How many Alans are there?

id go along with but give fake information, just to see what his end game is.

Asking you to be a DoP, but then lists a DIT/Assistant Editor/Editor's tasks. :P

"His films often have a dark, noirish look to them. They are often lit in very dark colors"

Lit in very dark colors . . .

I have no idea how dubious some actual contract arrangements are, but surely this is just a phishing/identity-theft scam (seeking bank account or social security details)?

Heya party people. Did some light research on this and I'm thinking Les is 100% correct.

This is not Alan Parker. The cell number and email are not Alan's info.

The real Alan Parker that is being referenced is represented by UTA and ITG. I might forward this info to his legal team, but who knows.

It is most certainly a scam/phishing attempt of some sort.

That was my thought Les. The info he's asking isn't too intrusive but my guess is it won't end there. He will most likely ask for my bank info later saying we'll deposit the money in my account. Such a shame even work offers are turning into scams these days.

Someone posted a more believable version of the same kind of scam here a while back, where you get contacted for work but it's just a ruse to get info from you that can be used for other purposes. Scumbags.

At least this version had some entertainment value, (accidentally I guess) blurring the line between WTF? and WTF-FO.

I color-corrected two films for Alan Parker, and he was generally very good to work with (Midnight Express and The Road to Wellville.) But I suspect this email is not from Alan Parker.

Another person in the industry contacted me via email last week saying she received a similar email but for a position of Casting Director. Sounds like the people behind this "scam" found our info from Mandy.com I ended up ignoring the email and deleting it. If someone (Phil or Marc) have a way to get in touch with the real Alan Parker he or his representatives should most definitely be informed his name is being used in this way.
