Hi
Currently exploring the best options for a workflow using Premiere Pro CS6 and Davinci Resolve Lite 9.

There seem to be a ton of possible workflows but can be broken down into 2 main options

1) Choose some type of round tripping option using the FCP XML export option from PPRO. Proxies can optionally be used as well for your offline editing.
My current problem with this approach is Resolve crashing every time I import the XML. Still trying to troubleshoot and hear back from Black magic tech support but this round tripping option seems to be the most flexible.
Jesse Borkowski has a great tutorial that explains this approach

2) Color correct ALL your footage FIRST in resolve, render out as ProresHQ, and THEN do your edits.
Here is a post on the Roger Deakins forum which suggest this, though unsure what advantage rendering to DPX format has. Although it refers to 5D footage, the same could be applied to a RAW workflow.

Can anyone chime in with their thoughts and workflows?

I would highly suggest option 1. The advantage of using PP is to work with the R3D's natively, thus avoiding transcoding in the first place.

I'm not having any issues with XML import within Davinci. Make sure you're on the latest release and your CUDA drivers are updated.

In my (limited) experience, I could only avoid Resolve crashes by getting rid of any transitions applied in PPro and put everything in a single video track. XMLs then load up fine.
