I have two quick questions.

First has anyone used the Wooden cables for the REDTouch or BOMB? They seem to be about 1/2 the price of the "Real" RED cables and they have some interesting lengths - http://woodencamera.com/RED/Cables-RED/LCD-EVF-Cable-RED-R-R-24.html

Which leads me to my second question - Is there a length of cable for the EVF or Touch where you'd have signal issues? I noticed that the Wooden cables have a 120" (10ft) cable, just curious if there may be any signal issues.

Thanks

Tommy

Not sure why you'd need your REDTouch 10ft away from the Camera but just curious.

Useful on a jib, in a car, or anywhere you want to see/control without being next to the camera.

Be aware these cables are NOT Red approved, so any issues caused by them would not be covered under warranty.

The WC cable connectors are non-Lemo brand clones which is one reason why they are cheaper - there was an broken pin stuck in a socket issue with the curly WC "Cinecoil" cables which are supplied by Live Post.

[Edit: I own and use a lot of WC's non-electrical products and they are great. There don't seem to be any reported issues with their non-curly cables, made by a different third party Alterna Cables, Inc]

Wooden is banned from Reduser due to a Top Plate issue with RED. x products are hardly spoken over here.
For fun try to write the company name in your post.

Honestly, despite them being banned here over a patent dispute (not because of quality issues), I buy as many products from them as possible because they are super fast on delivery, great quality, and just make solid stuff. Ryan always responds to emails immediately and has helped me find solutions even when the product is from other manufacturers (including RED). I would buy their cables without hesitation.

I had them make me a 30ft red touch cable for jib operation and it works flawlessly...

I'd like to echo what some of others have said, Ryan is awesome. Sent an email at 1030 one night, and he answered me within 5 minutes. Total stand up guy and his products are top notch.

Agreed. Top notch quality and service, most of my orders have shipped less than a couple of hours after I placed them. And they have a lot of accessories that others don't have. Loads of little plates, adapters that can save you when you're in the field trying to attach an accessory to your camera in a special way. Haven't tried their cables yet.
