Already have 1 x Red 100mm rail and want to get another swat rail but can't decide whether the WC rail will be a pain in the ass (accessories getting snagged on pins) or an improvement. Anyone care to share? I'll be mounting the 5" touch on a WC's nato clamp.

Thanks!

I like the pins. they feel safe. Even if they are a bit annoying it might be worth it... one slide to the side with the top handle that you forgot to tighten is kind of the end...

Safety pins never really bother me. I don't like the idea of something may slide off from camera cuz you don't have safety pins. I ordered one from Red but returned it. Instead, I got one from Wooden Camera. I think only one thing about Red's is that seems like theirs look and feel better. Also slightly lighter? Didn't weight it, but it seemed that way. I like my decision. I wouldn't put my handle without safety pins.

Copy that! Think I'll take your advice and use the safety rail for my handle and use my old red one for the the 5"

Safety is in the hands of the beholder... Although I do appreciate limit pins on dovetail camera plates! Haven't dropped any serious gear in 30 years of still/film/video work. YMMV, of course.

They are excellent.. though not recommended to put the spinner on. It has a hole in the centre so when u slide the spinner on the pin pops out inside and can't slide further. for every other use their the dogs bollocks

Mr. Wingrove thanks once again, would love to hang in Vegas if you have time though you probably have a full plate. Trying to find a room near RED now.

We had a job where the bomb view slid off the rail and fell 20 ft to a hard floor. 3500 dollars and a new viewfinder later I support the safety pin version.
