Wooden Camera Safety Dovetail - RED Quick Release

Bob, I have this Quick Release but without the dovetail for now - http://www.red.com/store/products/quick-release-platform-dovetail
So it should work I guess?

If you have that platform, that is indeed the dovetail quick release. All I use on both of my cameras and mostly mount to dovetail.

You should be good to go.

One thing I will say, RED's really thought out that quick release. Some dovetails are a bit "off spec", under that thin silver plate is a gear that will help you make secure lock tight with the clamp on the dovetail when that is an issue.

Nearly all my plates are Element Technica and I've got a few more "weird ones" (i.e. cheaper onces) where I need to sometimes do that.

Bob and Phil thank you so much for your help. I'll try to buy that WC Safety Dovetail. Looks really good and at the bottom of the dovetail it looks like it could go natively to Manfrotto head? Is that possible?

Karel,

Michael from Wooden Camera. The bottom of our Safety Dovetail is an Arca Swiss bottom, but you can install a Manfrotto plate on the bottom and it will slide into the tripod. Our Dovetails are Arri standard, so any Arri standard Bridgeplate or Baseplate will work with it.
