  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Wooden Camera Cable-less V-Mount - Error with Weapon MG

Not sure why yours are clicking. I press the power button on my camera and the only thing that happens is the fans come on 1/2 sec later. No clicking or pausing.

Hey guys,

Michael from Wooden Camera here! Just wanted to touch base and let you know that we do read everything on RedUser and try to correct any misinformation or problems that you all are having. In regards to the Cable-Less plates, out of the 500+ units we've sent out, we've only had a handful of cases where problems have occurred, which we have either repaired those plates or shipped out new ones as soon as we could. If you are ever experiencing any problems with your Wooden Camera product, please don't hesitate to email us!

I got a replacement unit after confirmation that my USB port didn't have any power. Now the replacement mount is acting a bit differently. The first unit, when I attached a battery, when turning on the camera it turned the camera on instantly. The replacement unit takes 2-4 seconds longer when pressing the power button before the camera starts. During this time I can hear some "clicking" sounds within the unit. It sounds like small power shortages or something, very low in volume. There are like three or four clicks before the camera powers up.

Does anyone else's unit behave like this? I asked WC about it and for an explanation why it did this but there were "non-answers" like "It's not a problem".

I'm a bit worried that this thing is going to fail unexpectedly in the future, but cannot be sure without knowing if there might actually be something wrong with this unit as well.
Mine works like a charm. I press the power button, it powers on instantly, no fuss.

I've replaced mine due to a faulty USB power, but the new one doesn't start instantly like others do...

Mine works like a charm. I press the power button, it powers on instantly, no fuss.

...and there's some "clicking sounds" within the unit when pressing the power button, which sounds like a power current problem, but it starts up the camera fine a few moments later and I've yet to experience any problems during operation. However, I asked Ryan through mail about this and I didn't get any answer at all, just "it's not a problem". But I'm wondering why mine behaves like this? I don't like inconsistencies and if it's a hidden problem the unit might fail in the future. Why is it behaving like this?

Just so you know, most V lock batteries does not work with the WD Vlock Back plate and the red handle, bricks do as they are not as tall as blueshape or such... so to make that work you still need to use different handle or cut the handle. I cut ours and assembled it with some liquid metal. Works great.

But you can mount the WC battery mount "underslug" to lower the hight of the battery. Now you have an ED handle! That's cool!
Pat

PS: Power indication of our WC mount doesn't work. It looks like it's the USB board causing the trouble.
