Just wanting to see if anyone else is having the same issue with their WC Cable-less V Mount. WC has already sent 1 replacement board to me but still having at least one of the issues:

1. The unit might work at first, however will eventually display UNKNWN time remaining / 0% on the Battery no matter how full that battery is
2. The unit will display the incorrect Battery %, and will be stuck at one number and not change
3. Battery swaps tend to trigger this error

*Using RED Weapon MG, with updated firmware.
*Unit has been used in a testing environment (quick battery swaps) and a production environment (battery is used up almost completely then swapped) - with errors happening on both situations

Thanks

My cable less plate (gold mount) won't work either. It worked for about an hour, then the camera would not come back on. I abandoned it, and haven't had a chance to try to figure out why it isn't working.

Do either of you have the WC Top Plate with the board for record start/stop?

I have the WC Pass-through top plate. I do not use the stop-start function on it, I just use the stop/start buttons on the side of the camera

Does it have the board for the start stop installed and the battery in it though?

I do not have the top plate

I have the same problem. I just made a video demonstrating it and sending it to Ryan at WC. Will keep you posted.

Thanks Jarek, would love to hear what they say. I've been in contact with WC but all they keep saying is keep testing it.

I got a replacement unit after confirmation that my USB port didn't have any power. Now the replacement mount is acting a bit differently. The first unit, when I attached a battery, when turning on the camera it turned the camera on instantly. The replacement unit takes 2-4 seconds longer when pressing the power button before the camera starts. During this time I can hear some "clicking" sounds within the unit. It sounds like small power shortages or something, very low in volume. There are like three or four clicks before the camera powers up.

Does anyone else's unit behave like this? I asked WC about it and for an explanation why it did this but there were "non-answers" like "It's not a problem".

I'm a bit worried that this thing is going to fail unexpectedly in the future, but cannot be sure without knowing if there might actually be something wrong with this unit as well.

I got my replacement board as well and installed tonight. Yes, mine clicks three times before powering on as well. Other than that it seems to be working as it should. Knock on wood.

What bugs me is that they just didn't care about explaining why. Maybe I'm just too paranoid when it comes to faulty tech since almost every time I've ordered something I've been getting faulty equipment to be replaced, but when asking two times why this unit works like this compared to the previous one and both times they the answer beneath the lines feels like "we don't want you to ask, it's fine, so stop asking".

But since yours works the same we will either have new working units that are fine or we all have replacement units that will fail further down the road.

This is why I decided to go with the V-Lock I/O Expander instead of Base Expander + WC Battery Module. I would have rather had two separate modules and being able to lower the plate is nice, but I can't afford to have reliability issues.

That would've been ideal-but I use Gold mount batteries.
Just reading these comments makes me glad I haven't installed the wireless part to the wireless module.

I have 6x Red Bricks and don't like how high they stick up past the top of the camera. WC's "low mode" would have been a great solution. I can always buy new batteries like the Redvolt-V Mount when they are released.

That's the only reason I got the WC. I hate that the quality feels like a cheap knock-off when it's actually more expensive than the Red V-Lock module. If only Red would have designed it all with the bricks in mind since they don't have any 150w options for power except for those. The new batteries aren't really effective as powerful batteries.

You don't have to go low mode if you get the DynaCore minis. They power about 2hrs+
