  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Wood N Camera EVF Mod

WC should redesign the swiveling adjustment function on their UVF knuckle. Those two little screws should not be taking the weight of the EVF. Mine has developed a significant amount of play in the horizon over the last several years with my Cineroid, which is one of the lighter third party EVFs out there. No amount of tightening up screws or opening the part up and reassembling will fix it. It's terribly frustrating when you have to either lock the tension on the swivel adjustment or live with an unlevel viewfinder.

I have the BM EVF and use it with an epic x dragon and I don't see any flicker. I haven't used it a whole lot, we just got it recently, so I can't vouch for all conditions but in testing we were really happy with this EVF. Really helps with focus.

What is color depth and color space? 30 bit rec 709 like red evf bomb? Really want to do all red but pricing for 1080 evf is same price as Raven brain.

Would love to know more about what problems those are - probably something that's not part of my personal workflow, but I'm always looking to learn. you could also throw a frame rate converter in between but that gets clunky. something like a Decimator MDHX.

Things down the chain dont work well with 30Hz, but ill think of something.
Both Europe and Middle East are 25p 50Hz...

I just updated my URSA EVF firmware and now the peaking goes mad and covers the whole screen Zebras do the same and the damn tally light is on permanently. So DONT update to the 6.0

Did you back date the BM evf firmware ? I'm toying with whether my BM evf would work with Komodo ?
