hi guys, this is the scenario.
epic rigged to a car. between the car and the director is 50 meters distance.
the car is moving.
is there a unit which can send a strong enough wireless videosignal to the directors monitor?
canatrans sucks big way even on small distances, so i thought maybe some of you know a way.

is there a unit?
where can i rent it?
prefered renting inside europe.
should of course work with the epic´s HD SDI

thanks mucho friends.

I'd recommend the use of the Boxx system - there is a new version similar to the Meridian that I recently used. It has a 4 antenna system. It's kind of big, but its latency free and it can easily handle that kind of distance - BUT and this is a big butt - from car to car things vary widely depending on everything going on. I have faith in the Boxx though.

Hey Kaya,
like Dan said,
take the boxx meridian

It will easily make the distance. As far as I understand, the director will be on one place and doesn´t move with a second car.
So take the big multiple broadcast antenna and you will have a clear, latency free HD stream.

I tried it several times. It will work.
There are several boxx rentals in Germany. One is mbf

good luck,

I've worked with the folks from RF Film to reliably transmit 1080p over miles [yes] from a box the size of an iPhone with maybe a ~3 frame delay. The technology and people are out there...!

The best way is what Brook suggested. Noodles is head of RF Film and he designed a system for us on Spiderman that transmitted video and 3Ality data in real time with almost zero latency over vast distances. We flew 3D rigs with 3D data and video on Spidercam half a mile as well as car chase work over any distance.

I cannot recommend his stuff enough
