  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Will Redcine-X be updated to run on M1 Macs?

I've always used Macs and always used Redcine-X ever since the days of RedAlert to view rushes in the field and do a quick colour correct, but as I understand it there is no version of Redcine-X that will run natively on M1 Macs, is this true? I dont visit the forums much these days so I may have missed something but I couldn't see anything advertising this update on Red.com either.

Redcine-X runs just fine on my M1 Max MacBook Pro. Am I missing something—is the question why it hasn’t been rewritten to run on Apple silicon without relying on Rosetta? I don’t know the answer to that but, in my case, it runs much better than on my previous MBP, so the current state of affairs is still pretty nice for a mobile user of the software.

glad to hear this is not a concern for you. nobody is insinuating you are missing anything ;) yes you seem to understand the question being posed on a public forum designed for the purpose of communication related to this topic.
