  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Will Nitris DX/mojo/multibridge/kona 4k all work for resolve or just certain ones?

Hi,

I have two Nitris DX boxes, a Mojo, a Kona 4k card, a black magic multibridge, and probably a couple more capture cards im not aware of here to choose from. Currently I have the Nitris DX hooked to our new machine and it works great for Avid as far as pumping the color accurate signal out of Symphony. However I cant seem to configure it for Resolve (I am also configuring resolve for color accurate screens the first time on this, so could be user error due to my ignorance). So basic question is will Avid hardware work for both applications since I have three different Avid hardware devices? If not, will Kona work well? I know black magic products should but multi bridge is quite old. I emailed the US tech support too but am just trying to solve this sooner than later as well as figure out long term how many seats should stay Avid based vs try to use multiple apps? Avid cant answer the specific hardware question and black magic is going to get back to me at some point but they seem to only test for their own products so I am not sure if they can even answer third party questions is another reason I am hopeful some color gurus can help me out? Really appreciate the advice! Thanks

Resolve only supports Blackmagic hardware. AJA will not work. The new Avid/Blackmagic i/o I have not tested but I assume works. Bottom line, if it doesn't have Blackmagics name on it, it won't work.

hmm, makes sense cuz it wasn't seeing my avid hardware at all... any idea if BM multibridge will work? we used to use that to live tether off HD SDI from a scarlet? i never used it to hook up a coloring screen, not sure if BM would support their gear that is so dated either? i still havent heard back from their preoccupied tech team unfortunately. im still hopeful i can repurpose something to work here, though its a bummer my 4k kona card wont work..

what about Avid when i switch to a BM card instead of Nitris? will that still be able to send a color accurate signal through BM gear cuz i need this machine able to color to either application is my end goal... if i need twice the I/O cards ill do it, but im hoping to spread my current technology around all of our machines in a way that maximizes their potential
