Has anyone (Red team?) had a chance to put a new 12mm Master Prime onto the Epic? I am trying to find out whether that lens will cover the full sensor (both widescreen and 16:9) on Epic, or will it vignette?

Thanks so much.

Considering that the 12mm is almost identical in design and execution to the 14mm, I'd say it would be just like the 14mm: it should be soft in the very corners in 2:1 aspect ratio (but not vignette), but it should be fine edge to edge (just) in 2.40:1.
Anyway, it is just an educated guess. I'd be happy to suck and see and I would not be returning either even if there was slight vignette :smile5:

All that I can say for certain is that till the 16mm it covers the full 5k.

Clairmont told me to today that the 14mm MP actually has more coverage than the 16mm MP. If true, I guess that is good news, Ketch.

ill know tomorrow

and so will you

awesome, thanks, dino.

Hi - did any of you get to test the 12mm MP on the Epic ? I'm also curious about the coverage. Best, M

I used the 14mm MP on the Epic, and it does not vignette. I have not rented a 12mm MP yet to try out. Anyone know the best place to rent a 12mm MP? Arri CSC?

Thanks Tom. Do you happen to know if the UP 14mm also covers the Epic?
