Hello redusers,

What is everyone using to set up wifi networks for location shoots? We will have a small crew, maybe 15 people tops, and we don't need too large of a coverage spread. Definetely less than a mile.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Patrick. Sorry for not being exact.

We won't be needing wifi as part of our workflow. Just for the convienance aspect for our crew. So we don't need something heavy duty and perfect, just functional.

Sounds like uhf or vhf walkie talkies would do the trick if you don't mind going old school. If you don't mind going REALLY old school, a bullhorn could be the solution. '-)

Hahahaha if the producer cheaps out we may have to go to bullhorns.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Here we use a normal 4G router, works well where there is good cellphone coverage and clients comming from outside of the country likes it as they can surf on thier I pads and not get the rooming charges. When it have coverage that is, when it does not well, then its pretty much halts everything :)

If there's no coverage for mobile, then it's satellite you need. A BGAN will do the job, but it's pricey!
