  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Wide angle lenses for RED Raven

have used canon 16-35 f2.8, Rokinon 14mm, zeiss zf.2 15mm and 18mm - mostly because I like 35mm full frame capabilities for use with 35mm cameras also
With Rokinon I avoid having actors on edge of frame since there is most distortion compared to others; Zeiss are fabulous but 15mm is a bit of a monster ;)

I have Zeiss CP.2 18mm, 21mm, 28mm I have a 6 lens set so what I use 95% of the time. Colour matched set, easy to manually focus, easy to manually pull iris. With the new CP.3 out you may be able to pick up CP.2 2nd hand at a good price.
Canon 16-35 f2.8 Mk 2. Mine is pretty good as being par focal but I find to be pretty soft compared to Zeiss and my Nikon. One down side is you can not easily pull iris - you need to use LCD screen or a side handle which is not as intuitive as pulling on the lens barrel.
Nikon 14-24 f2.8 Mine is noticeably sharper than the Canon. It is a truly sharp, low distortion lens that has the benefit of when combined with a Noveflex G adaptor allows you to pull iris manually. Only downside as with all Nikons it focus opposite to Cinema lenses and Canon.

Sigma 18-35 Art is the bomb. Used all the other glass but this has come to be my favorite for size, flexibility and image quality.

Love mine too but i find it a bit short on the wide angle...
