  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why RED seems to be all "hush hush" to some people concerning the Scarlet...

It's incredible how one person can influence and change so many lives. I know Jim isn't Mother Terasa (she didn't smoke cigars) but he's changed my life for the better and I'm sure that goes for several thousands of other people. It's not just the cameras that we'll hold in our hands that's impressive, it's watching Jim unveil his dreams that rocks me!
 
I see this thread went off topic so I didn't read everything here, but as for why I think they are all "hush hush" about Scarlet - two options:

1) There really is a longer delay, further hike in price, no FF35 etc...

or

2) Jim said this before - other companies are looking at what Red is doing and are trying to develop similar products, he said (this was a year ago) that they will not be putting too much info until Scarlet is actually released....

Its either point 1, or point 2, or a combination of them.
 
Red is not hush hush about the Scarlet. They are focused on getting Epic out the door at the moment and the Scarlet was always intended to follow in the footsteps of the flagship model. Once the tatoo programs gets underway, we will start to see Scarlet updates trickle out like they did with the Epic. Most of our Scarlet questions should be answered by mid summer and we should start to see footage around that time as well, if all goes according to plan.

We should know a lot more in a couple of weeks. Maybe even see some footage if things are going well.
 
Was there ever any mention of the focal length for the fixed? I saw 7 to 56mm in one thread but not anything specific.

Also, there was mention of a wide converter. Ever any mention of amount?

I'm VERY interested in knowing this as well... Also, is there a list or do we wait for Red to announce the Scarlet and see where it's sold...? Would be nice to get on a list....
