  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why I shoot on Red, 4K, and love the idea of Dragon 6K.

Great Post. I've been following the technology for 20 years now as an outsider. It was a refreshing view of the industry from the inside. nice. Thanks.

I just read this thread for the FIRST TIME, specially the first post; POST # 1, for those of you who haven’t, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Bump! +1!

Had a quick notion to revisit this thread as Dragon is out on a few motion picture sets.

I was on the phone earlier this week and somebody pointed out how "Ted" I sounded about Dragon and high resolution acquisition for motion pictures. He's since moved on from Red. I did some digging and found a few gems stuck in the attic.

This video that's now a few years old and came out a bit before Epic Mysterium-X hit the market, but it's still more relevant than ever. Especially since so much of the industry is clearly going 4K and UHD 4K.

Of course, Mr. Jackson knows a bit of the history of what it took to get here. Particularly, I enjoy his sort of passive yet visible excitement about finally and hopefully getting an Epic in his hands. Funny now looking back on just how many were used to shoot The Hobbit feature films.

Mr. Scott adequately sums up some other concepts post Prometheus.

This was all really in reference to Mysterium-X, but now and especially after shooting with Dragon a couple weeks ago, I wonder what iconic filmmakers will have to say regarding Dragon. The color, the dynamic range, the "organic feel".
