Is there a way I can just get 1 folder with all the r3d fils or mov files in it instead of separate folder for each individual clip?

drives me crazy.

No, it's a way to preserve the media. If you are using RCX or Premiere, the RDM folder shows up with all the clips inside without having to toggle to each file folder. Premiere is best (and often required) using Media Browser to find your files and import.

What bothers you about it in your current workflow? Maybe someone has a trick or tip to help with your specific case.

The one thing that does bug me a bit is that all the clips that have there own folder go first in order when I import all my clips from the day. Instead of everything going in order of when I shot it. If I shoot two shots back to back and one is really long it will end up in a folder at the top of my imports in premiere away from the other clip I shot right after if this makes sense.

I just navigate to the top level folder and then search for "_001" which bypasses all of the folders and just allows me to grab each clip, all at once.

There is a bug in premiere that has existed for a long time where when you import items, they are not sorted alphabetically. You have to toggle your sorting up top after import and then everything falls into order....it should have each clip in order of when they were shot.

Also, Media Browser is very important to the importing process of R3D material. Any bug I've had in the past was because I didn't import using media browser. If you're not doing that already, I would suggest switching over. Seems dumb at first, but becomes incredibly useful.

Thanks man. Dj had a great Idea. I just happened to use Resolve 14 to edit for this marketing campaign I'm working on (short individual vids for social media and web). And it's just a pain in the ass going through all the folders. I normally use premiere, but I wanted to just check resolve out since it wasn't going to be anything to intense. BTW I've been messing with speed retiming in Resolve is pretty sick. I'm kinda impressed.
