  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WHO TOOK DRAGON UPGRADE????

Delivered - turn around 13 days.

I'm an upgrading-Epic-X BTW. #164 on the list. The last person haha.

Probably makes sense to break the list up into:

New X
New M.

Since they're all on different priorities now.

Has anyone who requested the Dragon upgrade later than April 2013 gotten an email? I guess the guy who started this thread wasn't planning on maintaining it for 15 months.... nor for the next 12 months.

Sent my Epic in on June 17th.
28 days later, July 14th I received my Dragon.

Congrats, was there anything wrong with the camera that made it take 28 days?

Thanks Jon, when I sent the camera in it was fine. But I got this message from the RMA department.

"After completing the DRAGON sensor upgrade and installing the new DRAGON board, we noted that the camera did not pass a burn-in test. We identified and repaired the issue right away and began running the Quality Control tests again. Once the camera fully passes our tests we will have confirmed that the camera is up to current DRAGON factory specification, and we will go ahead and ship it back. We want to be sure that your camera is 100% functional before shipping."

I just got my upgrade email, so upgrades are moving. I was late on pushing the button for the upgrade, i ordered in August i think.

Thanks for all the updates. It is very much appreciated. Especially to Antony Newman for the list updating on Page 69 (pages might vary, based on the forums settings perhaps)

Cassidy, perhaps everyone knows it, I don't: what is a "burn-in" test?

Burn-in tests are generally somewhat synonymous with a stress-test to ensure that everything works under extended load. If a camera is going to die, it's often within the first few hours of use (which is when my first epic failed). If any plugs, solders or chips are just barely holding on then it'll die in the factory and they can replace the weak link. After replacing the broken bit they have to run it again in case something else didn't get a chance to fail as well.
