  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sorry if I missed this but how long have you guys been waiting since time of order? I've been told a few times from RED that they're 2-3 weeks but I'm seeing differently.

Seems like things are different ordering a carbon Dragon. They don't start building it until the payment is received in full.
So the 'build clock' does not satrt ticking until the funds are there.
Different than the usual camera order.

Lee,

Have your Rep come talk to me and we can try and work something out. Serial number is a moving target until a camera passes QC and is on the shelf.

Seriously considering, Not sure to do it via the upgrade process on my X, or buy new? Any thoughts from people who have theirs?

Can you get a canon mount or is it just PL. How much weight does the Magnesium mount kill. I'm shooting docs, so will be using canon glass, does going to a motion mount negate any weight benefit?
 
You get the PL mount, take it off and put on the Canon mount. The Mg PL mount does not feel that much lighter to me. I believe the outer 'hold down' ring is all that is Mg.
