  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who shipped their scarlet for a EPIC-X?

I'm probably going to do Scarlet Dragon, but first some footage.

After seeing the new Dragon footage, if I choose to upgrade my Scarlet, I'll be going with Epic-X (over Scarlet-Dragon).

The higher frame rates will add something to my commercial / music video gigs. HDRx is there if I absolutely need more DR (in extreme cases).

Kudos to Red for the Dragon's low light performance. For me personally though, I don't often enough shoot in extreme low light scenarios.

These trade-ins are sort of old news by now, but I sent in my Scarlet-X #350 two days ago and received my Epic-X #6397 today. Thanks to the awesome people at Red Europe, I got a quick turnaround and can put the Epic straight to work.

I in september.
Shooting with Epic is fantastic especially between 3:1 and 5:1 compression... and obviously at high framerates.
I had some problems with my new Epic (during a big job) and RED Europe sent me a new camera, (after the test).
Great camera, Great service.

Getting mine next month.

Hey guys,

Really sorry if this has already been answered in this thread as I haven't read the whole thing, but does anyone know if the scarlet cameras being traded in are going to be resold at Red as battle tested? If so, any rumors on pricing?

Thanks!

My Scarlet-X 1992 was traded in for Epic-X 6405 via Red Europe last week. It took around a week with no issues.
Although the Scarlet did a great job Im loving the extra power of my new Epic, I knew this was going to happen someday...
Cheers!
