  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who ordered EPIC stage 2? Let's try and count?

If we all dream the same, it may be true... That's all I can hope for. I compiled a spreadsheet to try to figure out rate of production and such, and was extremely excited based on what I calculated. THEN, I remembered eligible Epic stage dates was 10/2009, not 10/2008. My heart fell into that deep dark hole that only an Epic could fill. I do hope that 11/2008 to 10/2009 has only a few people signed up for Stage 2.

I would like to think it's because late RED ONE users didn't sign up for Stage 2 but the reality is probably that a lot of them aren't so hardcore as the rest of the people refreshing this post every 15 seconds and therefore hasn't signed up on this kickass list.

Just wanted to add that #930 is on its way, and so are 2 more connected to me, the last was swapped to M and is already shooting happily every day...

That is what a lot of us suspect. At this point, it's safe to say that stage 2 is AT LEAST 50% complete, and hopefully will finish by November 3rd. Yet again, who knows the actual numbers. I like to dream that the Nov 3rd event will include a "oh by the way, stage 4 is open for preorder" but it might be a little early for that. At least there are Epic-Ms available for rent in San Diego; I do have some shoots coming up. But an Epic-X for Xmas would make my decade.

Glad to hear that switches from X to M are happening for people on stage 2. I suggested they might a while back and people said it would never happen. Hopefully it speeds the process even further.

You'll need to keep dreaming through November. I think November 3rd could mark the beginning of Stage 3 orders.

That noise you hear downstairs on Christmas Eve may very well be your Stage 4 Epic.

Tony and John, CONGRATS!!!!!!

Can you tell I am a weeee bit excited?

Scott,

I was super cool about the whole thing until the local sub-contractor of Fedex UK told me they had a package for delivery tomorrow. I'm out in the boon-docks of the west coast of Scotland and I persuaded them to drop it off to me this evening if I met their night run at the end of our 6-mile road down the peninsular.

Now I'm like a kid on Christmas day - but with the grown-ups' vintage champagne to celebrate. That box. It is so cute. The rest of it so beautifully engineered. The PL mount is worth every penny that some grumbled about. The Red One mount is, you have to admit, a tad sloppy, but this is so neat if a lens is a few thou over size it won't fit. The Red 300mm slides in there with that lovely sound of machine marks (no matter how fine) rubbing against machine marks. Music to my watchmaker's ears!

In fact the whole thing is like the best watch work.

Do you get the impression I like it? I love it so much I'm taking tomorrow and the rest of the weekend off to go out and play with it.

It won't be long for you - and well worth the wait.

John

John, super cool to hear!! I had the pleasure of some alone time with a mates Epic-M Sunday..... Truthfully, I have slept little more than 4 hours since then with anticipation for mine arriving!!! And you are soo right about the machining!!! That PL mount, and I am sure, the Canon Ti as well are watchmakers art!!

Congrats Frederic as well!!!!!

RED MX 1754 = Epic X 407 and is with me.

Many people ordered cameras but didn't take delivery at the same time. I have 2 cameras with incremental serial numbers with 4 months apart delivery dates. Serial number has nothing to do with delivery dates

our second Epic , Stage 2, arrived today

Red One, Epic M, Epic X - family is growing, waiting for scarlet

Got my E-Mail !! YEAH… RED #5209 (November 2008) The only Problem is that the e-mail was sent to me but addressed to Todd Anderson for executed camera #007. This is very confusing on many levels. First of all I am almost positive that RED #007 belongs to Mark Pederson at OFF HOLLYWOOD second Brad if you are out there did you get your camera? HELP!!! Need my camera for a job next week!!

I would contact your bomb squad rep ASAP rather than try and resolve through here. That or call up Mark Pederson and calmly explain to him that 007 now belongs to you because Jim told you so. He'll understand.

I actually know Mark and that would be very funny.I have multiple e mails into my Rep
