  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who ordered EPIC stage 2? Let's try and count?

RED EPIC-X #250 landed tonight, my R1 is # 476 and delivered february 1st 2008, what an AMAZINGLY good deal stage 2 is/was!!!!
 
I'm still waiting for my X to land... I paid January 30, 2008 & am Red MX 363... Any moment now.... I think I'm driving my bomb squad rep insane...

I received my "about to ship" email last week - I'm Red #417, took delivery in Feb/Mar 2008 timeframe.
 
That's correct. They are up to March 08.

Mine is 2434 and I took delivery August 21, 2008, immediately when it was offered to me. R1 serial numbers were not sent in order so we may see a barrage of lower numbers go out any time.

With the R1 they started making more and faster in later months. From about serial number 2000 they were cranking out between 500 - 1,500 cameras per month. Before that it was like 50-100 per month.

At some point they will pick up the pace on Epic X and we'll see a lot of cameras go out in a short time.

It's all about invoice/ship date. If memory serves me correctly, there was a huge wave of people completing their RED One orders right after NAB '08 and a subsequently huge wave of cameras shipped right after. There were a lot of lower numbers that hesitated until after NAB and then pulled through, perhaps after seeing the cameras in action at the booth? I seem to recall that it caught RED by surprise, at least somewhat. I took delivery of my #1110 at the end of April '08, after paying and waiting a couple weeks. There were cameras ranging from the first 200's up to 1500-something delivered all around mine, some higher numbers before mine. It was kinda frantic around then.

...Expecting my "almost ready" email any day now. Hopefully.

My numbers are 4528 & 5010 but I received mine as soon as they were available , September 2008. I remember when I had the MX upgrade I was shocked how quickly my number came up after 2000, I was told a lot of people received there number but never took delivery until much later. I hope this is the same for the Epic. A chap can hope :)
 
Does anyone know the crew who assembles our Epics?

Let's send them triple expresso coffee (grande size) to really ramp up production!

No, whether you ordered the first moment or just before the offer closed, it is based on when you took delivery of your R1 and nothing else. I ordered immediately as well, but just because I was so excited!

It's amazing how many R1s they got out the door after it hit about 2000. Mine is 2434, delivery 21 August, and they were already up to 5000 by the end of September! Hope the Epics pick up pace, would love some good news in coming weeks!
 
Epic-X # 196 and # 197 ( from REDs # 245 and # 246 ) arrived today! Available for rental probably by next week.
