  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who ordered EPIC stage 2? Let's try and count?

Heh, no one knows! We don't know how many actually ordered, or when they took delivery, which is what truly drives the order, not serial number.

This list is really just to occupy our attention while waiting and give us a notion of how quickly the list is moving..

The best way forward is to compare it to the Stage 3 list, which shows how many units you can subtract from the Stage 2 list.

We'll know a lot more in the next week or two, as they continue to ramp up production and we see how quickly the list seems to be moving.

We may hit an "air pocket" of low serial numbers that took late delivery.

I shorted the list to not mess up the thread.

How should you read this? The count is up to 408 ordered Epic X but serials is all the way up to 8220. Does the serial tell anything about how many that ordered an Epic X or should you just look at the first number?

What I should get on monday: The items that will ship in this initial package are: 1x EPIC-X w Ti PL Mount/Side SSD, 1x RED Touch 5.0” LCD, 2x REDVOLTs, 1x DSMC Travel Charger

So that means I have to buy an adapter cable 2B to 1B for my RED Quickplate since the Side Handle will ship later and the Backback is backordered? Good to know because I'll hopefully get my #598 in a few days as well (without Side Handle??)

EPIC X stage II

EPIC X stage II

I expect 18% to 25% of total R1 owners eligible opted for stage 2..

Yes but... I would think a much higher percentage of the lower serial numbers will have opted for stage 2, but who knows. Anyhow we have a good info from Daniel, he has R1 #222 and Epic-X #109, so that's nearly 50% so far.

Cheers,
Damien

When people post that they have received shipping notification on their Epic X they should put down their serial# and when they picked up their RED One so that we can better track what is going on. I have RED MX # 127 and took possession of my RED One the first week of January '08. I still haven't gotten my notice that my Epic X is ready to pick up. Tomorrow will be 5 business days that they have had all the funds needed to complete my order. I just want to know what is going on and how things are being handled.

I have #100 and am in the same boat. But we don't know how this is set up. If, for example, they are asigning a serial number sequencially to cameras as they are completed and they are asigning us serial numbers according to our original Red One numbers and delivery date, if our particular camera experiences some need for adjustment during QC then that would mean that many cameras would not be shipped in perfect order. I don't know that this is what is going on, just my speculation. But I think we just need to take a deep breath and realize the folks at Red are working very hard and doing the best they can. Red has given us so much and treated us so well that I think we sometimes expect them to be perfect.

Amazing job Antonio! Thanks so much for this.

Can I add my name to the llst:

It seems there are quite a few of us in the same situation, Andrew. I'm with Mark, I am sure the folks at RED are doing everything they can to get cameras out. I can't imagine the complexity of something like Epic, much less putting thousands of them out a once. I'm not sure why there are some in the 200s receiving theirs first... only RED knows that. Maybe it's a QC thing. Whatever the reason, I'm confident they are getting them out as quickly as they can. I'm just grateful for the opportunity to be able to shoot with a camera so powerfully liberating.
