  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who got a Raven?

You are probably speaking out of turn. Don't make yourself look foolish in public. There is no conspiracy here. If you are displeased with the service or process, I'm quite certain RED will refund the deposit.
 
Heh, It's pretty easy to see why other companies don't make themselves so approachable. I can't imagine how frustrating this forum can be at times. Be grateful for how transparent RED is, we could be left in the dark this entire time but they are good enough to spend time outside of what I'm sure are extensive work hours to answer questions here. Absolutely mind blowing to me. But at least it's not the majority.
 
I think we are off topic from what the this post was originally about. There are clearly some people that have the Raven. Let's see some shots. Everyone and their moms do test shots!! I'm searching on Vimeo and nothing but the RED produced video.

i dont think they can since no packages have been sent out and no accessories made available ala carte.
hopefully that all changes today.

Bruh.. I don't even know what to say to this.
NOBODY wants or needs their Raven kit more than I do. We're ALL dying for it. But ITS A PREORDER... which means NOT YET AVAILABLE AT TIME OF DEPOSIT. The fact they were estimating March 2016 ship dates from 6 months prior was crazy enough. Plus the demand was WAY higher than they expected for the camera. If you're that unhappy, then PLEASE cancel your preorder, get out of your spot in line so we all move up, and go to Black Magic... I hear their preorder from 18 months ago-ish is just now making its way out into the world.

I messaged Jarred on Facebook last week to ask him if he had even a rough estimate of when he thought packages would start going out - as much of a long shot as that was the guy got back to me within 15 minutes and pretty much said its hard to tell because they ended up selling more than they estimated they would by a shitload. If you've got a problem with the way they work head on over to BMD I'm sure they could use a few extra sales these days and they'd never take your money and make you wait...nor would they (after making you wait) end up changing the specs of the camera you've been waiting for the day they finally release it...

Interesting, because I called them a few days ago and they said they did place a large order and because they are an authorized reseller they get "some" pre-order line priority over individuals ordering, but at this point, when so few cameras have gone out into the wild, its hard to tell when they will get their order fulfilled.
I had my mini46 pre-order arrive last week and I resold it on ebay...now looking at the wait here I'm thinking I should of held on to it for the time being until my Raven takes flight :)
Good things come to those who wait.....thats the saying right?? lol

Dear Dave... nothing much I can say however this unit is on my desk for last three weeks (still no chance to test yet...)

Why'd you decide to get rid of your ursamini 4.6 last minute? Did you take it out of the box and try it, or just resell it immediately?

have two sets of GL - 18-35mm PL.. my goto... now leaning toward to two more sets of 18-35mm EF and 50-100mm EF for RAVENs.
Note: I also have 18-35mm for Nikon if anyone interested in trade (to EF mount).. I'm open

Because they kept everyone in the dark for 8 months then 'surprised' everyone the day the Raven started to ship with a half baked missing features they announced when I ordered at NAB. I can't support a company that treats their customers like that. This camera launch really hurt BM I think. I have read MANY posts on here from people who left BM fed up with their crap. Im just another one on that train.
I ordered my mini46 day 1 at NAB, so I took delivery pretty fast. didnt even take the camera out of the package. Posted it on ebay and sold it to a filmmaker in Zurich and made a little extra to pay for a few extra mini-mags. :) So I ordered my Mini46 April 2015, waited almost a year, sold it, ordered my Raven Feb 6th and I am guessing I wont get it until End of Summer. UGH!! The suspense is killing me!!! At this point I wanna just buy a Weapon and make all this waiting stop.

The RED ownership rarely causes buyers remorse. Ownership expense can be a little onerous. But the camera build, image result, and support is part of the luxury of that cost.

End of April to May should be huge jump off point. Just when the balls have turned blue, the allocation email arrives.
