  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Who got a Raven?

There must be some one out there who got a Raven, post post post :-) I placed my order the day it got announced, and Im from Denmark ;) and I can only hear the silence.....WAKE UP...Update please :)
 
What we know as far as the active reduser community's allocations are posted/updated on "Raven Queue Put Together" thread.
 
Us reserved a few days after the announcement (in 2015 of course) and still waiting.
Im not sure if we could be waiting more time, they told Feb - March and now is April, they told me soon by email but soon is a relative term, no fixed date, so I think we'll probably go for other camera
 
The scariest part for me when I keep seeing post of people saying they pre-order the day of announcement and still don't either have one or been allocated makes waiting a headache I know a few dozen was allocated during the week of March 17th and the September 25th pre-orders are no where completed. I also know from Jarred post that the shipment will ramp up by how much is unknown and I pre-order much later then many that did on day one so I'm keeping myself busy with other things till I start seeing some improvements in shipping but its really hard too when people keep posting saying I pre-order the 25th and haven't been allocated yet but my fingers are crossed for better days.
 
I know you guys are anxious but I know RED wants to get these out as fast as possible. Nobody wants anything less than perfectly functioning cameras. So hang tight, and be thankful Brent and Jarred are transparent as they are. Let me tell you, these new DSMC2 cameras are worth the wait.

to give you an idea, i preordered 9/24, the night before and im still hoping for this thursday to be allocated. on reduser we have only heard 3 confirmations of raven allocations and for brains only. so if there were dozens as they said there was on march 17th then they must of went to dealers or people not on reduser, which is a little hard to believe as i thought he announced it on here first, early, before anywhere else. anyway, you are not alone, everyone is waiting and wondering whats up.

I called the guys at AbelCine Chicago yesterday, they didn't purchase any for stock so far (although that would be a very smart business move). Might be the case for some other dealers but I think that the production lines are just really, really congested.

My order was placed in September and surely I will not get it before May...if I am lucky. This is not fair 7 months and still not even allocation...
 
Just to put some perspective on this as it is currently April 6th, 2016.

Here's what Jarred stated March 10th:

I've seen a few Raven's land via Facebook peeps and we are now in the "first few weeks of April". I'd expect a good amount of September orders pushing out this month. I'm not RED, but I read what RED said, and that's what can be extrapolated really.

I would be hard pressed to guess a specific number, but it honestly doesn't matter what I "think". Via social media I've seen at least 6 out there and that's just people I know and I'm not exactly hunting them down to see who has what. And especially the VR/360 peeps likely haven't even rigged their bodies yet.

The hard truth is we are exactly in the first couple weeks of April and cameras are being pushed out. I would suspect between now and NAB and likely towards the end of the month a fair amount will ship. I have no idea how many or exactly when. But if you were really early on the ordering train, I'd expect good news in April.

The difficulty with Raven is so many people ordered them.

got it, yeah i can count 5 out there and ive been searching, but brains only. i think the misinterpretation has been that it sounded like he said "dozens" would be allocated on the first run, i dont think that happened and even some red reps indicated without swearing that it probably didnt happen. at this point i personally wouldnt mind if it didnt happen until after nab, i have no immediate plans for it and i want to see whats out there and make the proper decisions as far as accessories. i might even switch back to brain only once i see whats out there. thanks phil!
 
Ordered few and got some (brain only)... still waiting for more units (please don't ask me time-n- date when I ordered - lol)

Same here,i placed my order in January and i really can't estimate how long i'll have to wait since these early orders are still pending.
 
They are a group of people who tell lies.
To cheat us to pay the deposit, but they have 10000 reasons not to ship，Today！
At least, so far, no one get the raven，17/3?????? 8/4??????? Please, once again deceive customers
