I'm kinda curious as to who wants what and just a general head count of FUTURE SCARLET USERS!

Nov. 3 is near which Camera will you buy if these happen to be our options?

1.Scarlet 2/3 Fixed/Interchangeable* Complete Kit
2.Scarlet 2/3 Fixed/Interchangeable* Body
3.Scarlet S35 Complete Kit (Epic-S Surprise)
4.Scarlet S35 Body (Epic-S Surprise)

*If you could choose Fixed or Interchangeable pick one!

We have very little details as to what we are getting but this is a rough start.

In order of preference:

4.Scarlet S35 Body (Epic-S Surprise)
2.Scarlet 2/3 Fixed Body

I've already started ordering parts, I can't help but to start building a kit especially since I was saving for an Epic-X. Just gonna have to wait and see if we get lucky.

I'll bite - we've got ages to go... October is going to be one looooooonng month!

I thought the Scarlet S35 was now the Epic-S... but, who knows in these crazy times :)

1.Scarlet 2/3 Fixed Complete Kit
3.Scarlet S35 Complete Kit

All depends on price points for me... if the Scarlet fixed is in the lower price regions rumoured, it'll be a no-brainer... and a great run/gun & B-cam too.

5. Scarlet 2/3" Removable brain, if it's still an option. I've already bought accessories ( side handle, redvolt, charger, etc.).

Officially, there is no Scarlet S-35. Sounds like wishful thinking, or speculation at best. Not to say the Scarlet program hasn't changed, you just don't want to confuse anyone by saying, "yes, there will be a Scarlet S-35. Are you buying one?"

In order of preference:

1. Scarlet 2/3 Interchangeable
2. Scarlet 2/3 Fixed
3. Scarlet S35

Scarlet interchangeable, whatever that turns out to be. What and how soon depends on pricing. My previous Scarlet fund got buried in a new septic field last year.

Scarlet-Fixed 2/3 Complete Kit please!

I just want the fixed lens they have been showing off and be able to shoot out of the box.

If they can do that for $10k + Media, I'm sold.

I'm leaning towards the Fixed Scarlet with full package, but its all based on price as to which way I go.

First I will get a package as chances are it represents a savings and I don't have any RED equipment to start off with. I'm hoping that media prices/options will give us something less expensive then the $1000 for 64GB as that is if anything my biggest hindrance to the whole "get a RED" mentality as I would like not to have to worry about media on a shoot (right now I can shoot almost all day on 2 batteries and 16-32GB with my GH2).

As for Fixed, Cinema or S35 (not so sure on that one) it will be based on price and what premium we are being asked to pay for the fixed lens/larger sensor.

F or C: I currently shot using Nikon Glass (cold on a GH2 + one panny pancake lens for run & gun), so I would need a Hot Nikon Mount at ~$2000 so if the premium is in that ball park it makes sense to get Fixed. If the difference is $4-6K then I need to rethink which direction I want to go. That said I would be basically waiting until January at the earliest to get the Hot Nikon mount which sways me towards fixed that I can hopefully get before the end of the year; that said the lens I currently use most right now is the Noct-Nikkor 58mm f1.2 which is completely manual lens (with buttery smooth focus ring) - but on 2/3rds is basically unusable for most shots.

2/3 or Larger: Not sure if there will be a S35 option (I think 4/3 is more likely than S35 unless its in an EPIC housing) but again I would consider it if I'm not being asked to purchase a S35 for the price of two 2/3 scarlets.

I'll preferably have the Holographic scarlet that the doctor from Startrek Voyager was using, when he realised that essen Kim had surgery he didn't remember doing.

1 x 2/3 Fixed Body. I like the versatility of that fixed lens. Mostly going to be using it for action sports. If the price is right, I'd rock the complete kit.

Probably the 2/3 Fixed or the S35 body.

I like the flexibility and portability of the 2/3 Fixed Scarlet. Will be a tremendous tool for high quality EFP work like Documentaries. Imagine the kind of material one can capture with this camera in all sorts of exotic locations. Tibetan prayer flags flapping in the wind with the Himalayas in the background? All in 3k glory. Imagine the possibilities. I expect to see an explosion of high quality 'Planet Earth' style docs shot by Indie productions as opposed to giants like the BBC or NGO.

My only concern is that I'm not keen on the T 2.8 speed of the fixed lens. Would prefer something a bit faster. Ah well, looking forward to see how the camera performs at higher ASA settings.

If they can do that for $10k + Media, I'm sold.

Heh, I just spent $10k on media ALONE for my Epic X, so perhaps they will go back to CF, or offer another option than SSD.

I would like to get 2 x Scarlet Fixed or maybe 1 Fixed 1 Interchangeable, to compliment the Epic.

Depends on what Scarlet is, what Canon's coming out with and how they both compare to the FS100. I was just days away from forking out for either an AF100 or FS100 when Canon made their announcement, so I've decided to hang off for that little while longer.

I won't be buying a 2/3" camera though, not with the large-sensor options currently on the market.
