Which Nikon adapters have no play and the closest to spot-on infinity focus?

The Iscorama has a stiff focusing barrel and when I pull focus the anamorphic element gets ever-so-misaligned, resulting in a really awful effect not pronounced on spherical lenses.

The oldest eBay adapters I have seem to have tons of play. The newer ones much less. But I want to find which adapters have the absolute LEAST play.

NIkon F to EF mount.

The answer, apparently, is Redrock!

Yes and also Leitax which started the whole thing with the locking screws:

Nice!

What, in your experience, has more accurate infinity focus? I know that thinner is better than too thick (because you want to be able to surely focus to infinity, even if you risk focusing past infinity), but some adapters are way too thin and my focus marks are not only a mess, the floating elements are miscalibrated in some wide angle lenses.

Also looking for a machinist to possibly install set screws to prevent lens creep and lock infinity focus for the Iscorama. Any leads in LA?

Contact Duclos Lenses. He has something called Cine-Mod where he'll put gears, declick the aperture, and put a Leitax mount on the lens. In some cases he can shim each lens to make sure they achieve infinity.

He's been working on a hard PL mount conversion for a while for Mamiya 645 lenses and that has allowed for proper infinity focus to be achieved via shimming on each lens.

Too broke at the moment, but I will look into that soon. It's what I need but I only shoot as a hobby and can't justify the expense.

Redrock for now for anything pairing with the Iscoramas, and those adopters will then migrate to other lenses when I can afford the mount conversion, etc.

The 80-200mm f4.5 N is nice with the Iscorama. Stop it down to f8 and it's a full-frame (slight vignetting) constant aperture anamorphic zoom. At well, f8.
