Which nas disk do you recommend 2017? I hear the seagate iron wolf should be good, but sounds alot.. Im planning to get a qnap with 8 bays and thunderbolt 2. With thunderbolt 2 I cant use long enaugh cable to put the nas in another room...so Im a little concerned about that. Im going for 6 or 8tb disks.

Western Digital RED drives
Seagate IronWolf Drives

Edit:
Is it worth go with the ironwood pro instead of the regular ironwolf?

I have a 1282T qnap with 8x 10TB Ironwolves for over a year. No issues at all. Its no louder than a G-Tech 8 bay unit.

As Todd said if you MUST put it in another room you can use Optical TB2.

Coming from a data recovery companies standpoint, run away from Seagate anything.

I will buy a case of Seagates in your honor.

I've never had issues with their enterprise stuff. Maybe 2-300 spindles here. They consumer stuff was shit for a few years. No idea about that now though.
