  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Which look? IT's commercial about cancer

my real question is how are you all posting images in the body rather than attachment...

You have to host the images somewhere and then post the link in the body here. Otherwise Reduser limits image sizes in the small viewer upon upload.

You can right click, open in a new tab, and see the full 4K image.

thanks matt

Matt when looking in to your r3d it's a whole diff approach than I been using, Amazing new knowledge , ThankX MATT and everyone, I will be posting small clips and the whole commercial after it's done.

No problem, looking forward to it

Maybe a bit too cool...

I'll try something else...

But the image is pretty soft and has some odd things out of the box...

Matts desat is better :)

I'll give this another go...

In a totally different direction...

Hahahaha

A lot of good suggestions here. Just something to add to the mix; I've shot two commercials this year geared towards medication for terminal cancer patients. One thing that the client desired was a sense of serenity, peace, calm, and "muted" happiness. Tricky balance. If we were focusing on more of an uplifting message I certainly would have favored more of a lighter feel. However, too light and it really wouldn't suite the target audience of the piece due to the severity and weight of the subject matter. Don't know if it applies to your piece or your audience Greg, but I found that direction challenging and interesting.

Some nice one light grades.....some leave me cold . Don't get me wrong its not because they're bad, it's just they don't work with what I presume the message is.

Having done the odd TVC or 1000. I would be asking the question what is the creative or takeaway message of the TVC ? The subject nature is "highly emotionally charged" hence IMO great care needs to be given in its image portrayal ......after all, in many peoples mind cancer = death.

Is this commercial about hope, about death , about diligence , about loss . Depending on the message most of these styles will not work . Hence B & W becomes cliche, over saturation condescending , to processed artificial, a soft diffused look they're already in heaven. Having said that there would be nothing worse than creating a ye olde cancer commercial giving the audience exactly what they have seen before and every reason to promptly dismiss it from their already cluttered advertising riddled minds.

So Greg what is the message..............hope, loss ? & what is the call to action ...... from there we can create a look.

Shot of patient driving in his classic Mercedes convertible with his wife in the passenger seat. Shot is intercut with photos of patient and his wife on vacation. patientss V.O.: “My name is ................., and two years ago I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. The hardest part was being told I had only 8 months to live and our dreams of spending our retirement traveling around the world were shattered. Then I met the doctors at North Shore Radiation Oncology and they gave me hope.At their state of the art Radiation Center I received IMRT radiation therapy. During which, I was able to eat and drink and today I’m in complete remission and we’re still living our dream.” Dr. Vacirca: “North Shore Radiation Oncology. Conquering Cancer close to home.” Graphic of medical practice’s logo (an affiliate of NSHOA), phone number, web address

Arhhhh .....so the message is "HOPE"

Maybe 2 looks....

1) Despair ......dirty, bleached ...for the diagnosis
2) Hope ........Tough as hell to create without looking cliche......for hope & resolution.

Gunleik....you are beside yourself ; ) ^^^^^
