Hi I am looking to buy a 4x5.6 set of Neutral density filters for my Red Gemini. With the standard OLPF blocking most of the IR what set should I go with?

Tiffen Whiter Water or Schneider ND? Do they affect sharpness if I plan for 8k in the future and sharp lenses?

I still need to test those Arri filters, but yep, that's my full list I've actually tested.

Would you say regular Tiffen White Water and Schneider are out of the question?

Dye filters are not even close to the quality of what's come in the last 5 years in terms of color stability and accuracy. Especially at higher densities. I have some older Schneider and Tiffen filters that I use for weird things, but I'd highly recommend any of the ones listed and apparently the Arri's too (though I haven't tested them).

If you need to do it on the cheap, Nisi is the solution. They are howo "not the best", but good bang for your buck.

In my opinion, filters are something you don't want to be upgrading every few years. Keeping that in mind, I think it's worth it to pay the premium for the best, latest tech and the most robust build quality. Based on those qualifications, get full-spectrum ND filters. My highest recommendation based on personal use is the Schneider Rhodium ND filters. A lot of people love the Firecrest filters--I owned a set for a while, and I had some strong color temperature shifts throughout the range. So yeah, Schneider Rhodium for me.

Get a Revolva mount and you get a full set of NDs thrown in ;-)
The quality of those NDs are great too.
