  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where is Adobe Speedgrade?

Google could help with that, but the basic info is: It's on it's way and should be a part of the Adobe Production Premium Suite CS6. NAB will inform you either way.

I've heard from someone quite reliable that there will be a send to Speedgrade type function in CS6.

Adobe SpeedGrade CS6 is at the door, official preview will be held at NAB, so stay tuned on the Adobe website.
Would be interested to see if mocha is incorporated somehow for tracking within speedgrade

I received a couple of emails saying the same thing on the speedgrade cs6 integration, and the beta will be soon after NAB.

On the Mocha front, I haven't checked ... I stopped using mocha and moved over to some other tools ... would be nice to move back to using mocha (would speed up my workflow).

Thanks Todd

please support the control surface panel (4 speed-grade), would be really great!!!

Mocha would need to support .r3d first...they are a little behind in that department

Mocha is a pretty powerful planar motion tracking application that is an included 3rd party app with the Production Premium suite. It interfaces through formatted text files with After Effects.

Sounds wonderful....jezuss, more things to learn!! Well, i'm impressed with CS 5.5 and especially AE....not that i'm a power user, but man is it miraculous software! Just wish all of this was crammed into one place.

It is. It's called Smoke:-)

If Speedgrade acquires planar type of tracking, a-la Mocha, it will just bring it into parity with Resolve in the tracking department. At this point, like it or not, Resolve managed to establish itself as a de-facto standard color grading software. And it's free, and it now works on all computer platforms, it's capable of one button roundtrip with Avid and FCP, can read and write pretty much any codecs, works with all major panels etc. And did I mention, that's it's free? Frankly "send to Speedgrade" button would just save a couple of clicks over XML or AAF and Resolve. And what about those, that do not use Premiere? What I'm really saying is Adobe has a very steep mountain to climb, if all they do is just reissue Speedgrade without introducing some new and compelling features to try to even supplement Resolve with Speedgrade.
