  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

what would be the approximate number of scarlets that can be manufactured per day? I mean roughly, I know Jarred mentioned how many minutes it would take a team to assemble one Epic...

I'm 51009, which would place me around 160 in line (although I'm not sure whether that order number has been 'adjusted' to reflect the corrections Brent said he would make for those who called earlier but were denied the chance to place a phone order; if that correction is made by simply processing the sale 'out of order' then I might expect delivery sooner than the order number would suggest, maybe I'm actually around 100 in line, who knows!...)

And I agree with Timur, this could go a lot faster than expected.

Which begs the question... if they get to my order, and the body is good to go but the Canon mounts aren't ready yet (I ordered Canon Al), what will RED do? Skip Canon orders and fulfill outstanding PL mount orders further down the line?

Personally I would really like them to ship the body with NO mount, if the Canon mounts aren't ready when my order number is reached; I'm getting a Canon FD mount from Optitek and would happy to play with that until RED are ready to ship the Canon EF mount. But that could of course pose logistical problems for RED. Or I might just seek to rent a PL mount. I think I'll fire a question at my Bomb Squad rep!

You know I'm 50997, I tried to order at 3:30 and got it done at 4:20 - almost a hour to order the camera due overwhelmed site Nov 3r and what is more as I'm in Europe I'm pretty to sure That I will get it long Time after 51XXX Orders numbers who have the chance to live in the country where Red creates everything and thus have the chance to get the things before us

Patience is a vertue
Only hope That Europe is a part of the limited quantities they are starting to ship
 
51407 placed on the 3rd at 10:09pm Pacific time... email from RED says November 4th so I assume their ordering system is on another time zone for whatever reason...

So based on Mike Ross' assumption of his order being approximately #160, I'm around 558 or so?

Sure will be interesting to see how this all pans out. I cannot freakin' wait! Starting to lose sleep because I'm so excited hahah

And yes, I placed my camera order on the 3rd, with an accessory order to follow the next day, as well as another one a few days ago.

OK so for whomever has figured out this order number thing, where would Order number 1111041002400369 be?

I ordered the next day because I was working the night of the 3rd :(

When you guys are looking at time stamps... I'm figuring it will be some time next decade...;) I ordered a Ti PL mount. Does that help?

wrong number, log into your account online and post the SO- number, or the last 5 digits of it.

Mark, you need to log into your RED account and quote the SO-xxxxxxx number associated with your Scarlet order as shown there.

I like your attitude; it'll come when it comes.

If mine comes without a mount, I may be on to you to rent a PL mount ;-)

It means you're order #1672 and there were 822 + (unknown # of phone orders) ahead of you. Probably almost all scarlet orders. #861 is evidently ready to ship or has already shipped which is a good sign for there not being any more PL phone orders. About 30% were PL mounts and PL mounts ship first so really there are only about 274 people ahead of you... until December 1st when Canon mounts start shipping at which point I imagine you go back to being 822nd.

So you might actually be in a pretty good spot if they could crank out 250 per week.
