  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

I'm sure the 1st numbers are geosat co-ordinates of the buyer , then the other 2 barometric readying, the next wind direction & strength & the final sequence of numbers wether your Bio-rythms are in the ascendency or crashing. So mine are 69, I'd like to know how did they know! ;)

It means that in the ~8 hours between when I ordered and you ordered, Red logged 580 total orders. Not having perfect information, it would be difficult to say exactly how many Scarlets are included there (multiple scarlets on one order, orders that didn't include scarlet at all, etc). But it is likely that most of those were Scarlets and most orders only had one camera.
 
I ordered Saturday morning, and I figure I was Scarlet1,400 or so. If I remember right, I was something like 1378 over Gavins.
 
I know Jarek Zabczynski is before me. By about 10-15 minutes. And he made it through the website. So I think that would be a really informative number to get since he was the first person I heard of to actually finish.
 
After entering my credit details, I left the page loading for an hour or so before going out to see some fireworks. Several hours later I started again.

Since this is REDuser of course speculation is the name of the game. So here would be my equation for "when yours will be ready" (assuming everyone was Aluminum and there was no shortages).

Jim said they consistently can assemble an Epic in 13 minutes. 60/13 = 4.6 Cams per Hour = 37 per 8 hour day.

Safe to say that probably starting number is at a minimum 750.

Delivery Date = [(SO#-750)/37*1.4 per customer] Business Days after December 1.

= December 13.

Which of course is a great guess right up until the point where the Al mounts don't work and nobody gets one until February haha.

I just noticed my order(says cancelled and it's all being ordered ala carte with higher total price than package price):

Price/Order Details says:
Date Order Placed - November 3, 2011 Sales Order - SO-0051413 TOTAL $15,164.23

I thought the package price is..?!

I'm a little confused...I didn't cancel my order I just placed one order for the package deal. I wasn't able to place my order right away because site was down. Around 10pm I got back on and was able to place order and got the confirmation email around 10:15pm stating:

SCARLET-X Al CANON MOUNT PACKAGE DEPOSIT 1 $14,015.00 $1,401.50
Subtotal $1,401.50
Shipping TBD
Total Due Today $1,401.50
Estimated Balance* $12,613.50
*Due at time of shipment

Am I missing something or is this a glitch in the system..?!
 
ok I just talked with England and they are bombed with orders :-) They dont even want any money from me now...
 
I think they're assuming an 8% tax and shipping charges. At the time of purchase they'll determine whether you're a CA or WA state resident and charge tax properly if so depending on your county.

Hi,
I had ordered an REDMAG on Nov 3rd atleast 12 hours before Scarlet online ordering was opened and the
Sales order number is Sales Order - SO-0050765. My SCARLET Sales Order number is SO-0050996 placed on the day of announcement.

Even if all the other orders placed after the first sales order number ie 50765 are for SCARLET my SCARLET number should be (50996-50765) = 231 or less.

I placed another order for accesories yesterday and the SO number SO-0052358. So what I presume atleast (52358-50996)=1362 orders were placed till yesterday and 70% should be for scarlet ie 954...

If it wasnt scarlet related, I would have given up the server was so bad. I was trying from wireless, mobile 3G and in the end a USB modem dongle. (which finally did it.)

This was all during the last shots of a TVC so I was trying to check and backup footage all the while.
The steadycam op knew I was waiting for the announcement, so 10 minutes before he had the DoP come up and ask to review "Everything we have shot over the last 2 days, shot by shot".

I almost filled my trousers.

Suffice to say they were taking the piss, and interestingly enough the DoPs first reaction was that he was going to try and pick up a cheap MX on Ebay.

People are forgetting the MX is still a fantastic camera.
 
If I had to hazard a guess I would actually say ignoring phone orders it looks like web orders start at about 800.
