  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

When you get your Scarlet soon, please post your footage!! :)

Also it would be nice if the footage posted is cinematic in style and feel and NOT of things like plants, cars going by , kids running in the back yard and pets!! LOL
There is way too much of that on the net already.
Be creative and try to use it to its advantages.

I don't care what it's gona be kids, cars, back yard, whatever, just please, who ever will get their scarlet from the first batch, please find the time and post some variety of shots of different RCs, resolutions and ISO settings in low light,
thanks in advance!

Well there goes my plan of only posting test footage of my cats… Maybe if I could get them to do something 'Cinematic'?

*/ end sarcastic smirk/

Congress declares pizza a vegetable...and now people are spending 20 grand to film cats.

Go America.

Would be great if people posting the footage would also add their SO, and the day they've received the camera, so we can watch the pace of the shipments, and perhaps figure out ours.

I will look at any Scarlet footage you care to post, cats, kids, flowers, whatever.

I would like to see outdoors, indoors, bright light and low light, sunlight and daylight balanced lights. Don't care about tungsten, I don't have any of those.

You guys are so funny. At 24fps, scarlet will look identical to Epic. Go find some Epic footage and you'll have a perfect example.

An Epic is not a Scarlet. Same sensor, different processing. If they were the same camera, they would be the same price.

At slower framerates, I'd be surprised if they were distinguishable in most settings.
That'd be a failure...

You need the extra processing to tackle higher framerates. The processing ought to be pretty much the same.
Pretty much my reason for posting all these R3D's:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?66510-So-what-can-you-do-with-a-Scarlet-X...

Noone from RED has stepped in to save my sorry butt in case I am wrong about this presumption... And I guess that is because I am not wrong about this presumption...

Jarred has also posted some images on FB that pretty much is in sync with Scarlet and Epic images being very similar, within the scarlets datalimits...

RED wouldn't really have a lot to gain by cripling the image-processing algorithms that make the Epic images so extraordinaire...

Post some frames as soon as someone have it!

It would also be nice to get some Scarlet footage to check stuff like workflows.
It probably will be the same but who knows if 3K footage would also be supported by Premiere CS5 or if you really ned CS5.5 like with Epic 5K footage.

Anyone want to see "cinematic" footage of my dog Barney and his adorable sister, Daisy?? lol

<---------- that's Barney

You'll most likely need exactly the same as for Epic footage...

People, including me, want to see Scarlet footage, not simply be told it will look like Epic.

I think it will look like Epic footage. But i want to SEE that for myself, not read it.

An Epic is not a Scarlet. Same sensor, different processing. If they were the same camera, they would be the same price.

An intel i7 does not produce different renders (most of the time except from bugs) than an intel i5. The processor speed is irrelevant. They have the same chips, the same firmware and the same code.

what do you mean funny, funny how? funny like we amuse you? like make you laugh?
:)

^ lmao One of my fav movie quotes!
"...I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to ##### amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?..."

Feedback from Rob

CS5.0 supports RED ONE R3D files
CS5.5 supports RED ONE, EPIC & SCARLET R3D files

So as we guessed its the same requirement as with Epic
