Where can I find a list of what is currently in stock RED accessories (plenty of supply) versus what is backordered (would have to wait if ordered today). In particular, which RED lenses are in stock and have no waiting list or backorder list?

Tried to find this via search but could not.

Here is what the "your camera is nearly ready to ship" email said 2 days ago :
EVFs, 18-50 ZOOM LENS (METRIC), BOTTOM PLATES, DOVETAILS, TOP MOUNTS, RED PRO CARBON X RODS, NIKON MOUNTS, 19MM ARRI BASES, and 50-150 ZOOM LENSES (IMPERIAL) are in limited supply and backorders for that product are currently being fulfilled in order of reservation number. If they do not ship with your above order, they will ship separately as soon as they are available.

“Coming Soon” accessories (ie, not currently released for delivery):
  • RED 64 GB FLASH DRIVE
  • RED PRO PRIME SET OF LENSES (BOTH IMPERIAL AND METRIC)
  • RED PRO 18-85 ZOOM LENS (BOTH IMPERIAL AND METRIC)
  • 50-150 ZOOM LENS (METRIC)
  • 18-50 ZOOM LENS (METRIC)
  • 300mm PRIME LENS (METRIC)
  • CARBON FIBER RODS (STANDARD)
  • RED LENS MOTOR
  • TIMECODE CABLE
  • OPTICAL FIBER 300 FT CABLE
  • RED MATTE BOX

whats the average time of getting the stuff, especially the 19 mm base plate and bottom plate....if you want to use arri stuff 19mm...i cant buy the 15mm just for a couple of weeks/will have to rent if this is the case with me----do you have any further info?

This is obviously the one drawback with Red, availability of product. I'm probably being naiive but surely if demand is there (and it CLEARLY is) surely it should be possible to find folks to make the parts, others to assemble them and then to ship? Shoot me down for my overly simplistic view please!

I've had my RED for about a month and still haven't received the bottom plate or dovetail in my production pack...

Just guessing here, but I had to mount the RODS in the top handle before I got the baseplate/dovetail. Actually quite neat.

so you are not really able to use a MB and FF right now?----is there another way to attach the 19 mm rods besides the bottomplate and 19 mm plate?

I have them now, but have not used a FF. I have used several matteboxes, though, both swing on and clip on. Chroziel. Besides my (not so) lovely Lomo, I have more or less constantly rented a set of Superspeeds since I got my Red... Ones attitude towards glass have changed...

:)

Isn't the bottom plate from ET? or are there 2 bottom plates?

OT: ad Lomo

OT: ad Lomo

The Lomo is a great piece of kit, for 500$... :)

But I find myself renting all the time. It clearly does not resolve like the zeiss (and I didn't expect it to) but the worse part is that the images sorta "breaks" in post, while the zeiss glass holds up just fabtastic. (No surprises here, but still...)

The CA is really not good... :)

For some setups, mainly close, semiclose - it is a tremendous value for money. And I can actually go out and shoot without traviling 200 km to a rental house. For working on workflow and doing silly tests, it's unbeatable. But for paid gigs... No way :)

Sorta...
