I didn't read all the comments but I didn't see any personal attacks. I put my own opinions into the what I thought of the storytelling...and for those who are upset they didn't see it, don't worry you didn't miss anything.

I think that Ketch has shown an amazing amount of poise throughout all of this and that as a social experiment it shows just how ridiculously vitriolic Reddit and the entire Internet can be. Maybe the short wasn't great but the hyperbole these people can come up with is astounding.

It's a short film, a four minutes one...
Despite you want to like it or not, or hate it to the guts, i think that all this hate-criticism can't born for a four minute piece of a fellow Reduser.
People who attacked Ketch (or troupe, models, etcetera) it's people that was waiting long time for Ketch to fall.
To these people i say: i'll wait Ketch to rise, and he will!
So take your hate, it is worthless, while all the advices Ketch gave us in this forum are priceless.

So, i have only one thing to say to Ketch:
"Non ti curar di loro, ma guarda e passa..." (Dante's Inferno)

Keep on, Man!

Im sorry but my curiosity is festering. What is it about? The cached youtube video descriptor says it's a prequel to a larger film about rape awareness. And people on reddit claimed it was difficult to watch. I'm putting 2 and 2 together and assuming someone gets raped. Is that it?

When I Google for : red camera "the red dress" rape .... the video results get pretty freaky after the first page or so .....

Actually, I kinda feel the same way. If it's crap, let it be crap. You cards are on the table. Lotta people never make the effort to put themselves on the line. So well done for that!

It does take a lot of courage to put yourself out there on the web and yes, it sure does feel like Ketch has let it effect him in a harmful way. That's probably the worst part but it also show his huge heart to take this "beating," for lack of any better terms, so seriously. It shows his passion and he's Italian so he'll shout it out and shrug it off soon enough. Someone really should be making a documentary of KETCH ROSSi.

I was looking for it as well.
Missed all the drama apparently.

Not sure what went wrong but it seems the only issue was that people did not like it?

Nobody makes amazing work all the time, it happens.
Nothing to feel so bad about Ketch, seems like it hit you way harder than it should have.
Hope you are doing better.

Since I followed the behind the scenes from day 1 I'd still be very happy to see it.

Isn't every filmmaker a "hack" when we first start out? Remember Speilberg's story?

- Applied to USC Film school twice and failed.
- Dropped out of Long Beach State.

While an intern on the Universal lot, he basically took up an office space and starting casting from the studio "illegally." Imagine going to that casting, finding out the "sham" he had put together and then calling him a "hack," which was probably correct at the time.

But there's only one Speilberg. In the next years to come we'll see what Ketch is made out of.

You can find a link to the film and deleted comments on the first page of this thread.

Maybe it's time to let this one go and continue to work on making your own movies better.

Maybe management at RED decided that a film short featuring the abduction and rape of a young woman was not the best way to promote 6K and extended dynamic range.

The difference being Speilberg didn't tell everyone he had 20 years experience, didn't need film school or was going to make the greatest film ever on his first attempt.

This is an excellent response. Thanks for that.

Reminds me of when I made my first film many years ago. It got into a small local festival, but when I compared it to other films it felt very inferior both technically and creatively. I was pretty devastated and embarrassed—lesson learned. I now show my video/films to my friends, family and confidants at various stages, especially when something needs to go out publicly. And now with the internet, it is less forgiving.
