  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm curious to see also, but more people need to vote. I would just have worded option one differently to : stage 2 and keep R1 (wether M-X or not). Since I haven't received an e-mail to upgrade our R1, I decided to wait and go stage 2 and hope our Epic arrives soon, then we'll see if we still have demande for our R1.

Cheers,
Damien

Your right. But if someone is planning to keep their Red One they really should eventually get the MX upgrade.

Waitong for email to get the MX, took stage 2

wonder if stage 4 will get any votes. hard to imagine anyone currently would consider a stage 4 with so many stage 2's for sale

Stage 4. Bought a RED ONE after Oct 30th.

from the looks of it the majority are going for stage 2, that means that for some of us it will be a LOOOONG wait for our number to come up....wonder if it will be in 2010 or 2011???
Any way, thanks RED for giving us this great deal, come when it may.

Why do you think you will have to wait for a long time? Red now knows how many Epics are going to be sold and than they make a plan for fast masive producing Epic's and build a bigger factory for it!

The faster they catch up, the faster they can sell to new customers!!
It works 2 ways if you know what i mean.... :-)

R 1265 (soon MX) and Epic (soon on his way to me)

well, you are number 1265....I am 6320....a quick question, have you received your Mx email yet? If you still haven't, imagine how long it will be for me to receive mine, that is why I was saying a LOOOONG wait, to have both the EPIC and a RED One Mx'ed. See what I mean?
Any way LONG is relative, for some people 1 week is long for others like me , I would say 9 months (my guess) is kind of long but bearable. That would put me in Feb 2011. But keeping my fingers crossed that it will be much faster than I expect and that we all will be very pleasantly surprised.

It would be interesting to hear from Red how many people took advantage of Stage 2. I did, and I'm looking forward to getting my camera. I hope that all goes well and quickly with the tattoo program, and that they are able to deliver cameras quickly when stage 2 starts. (And not repeat the same delays they had when the Red originally went into production.)

Any idea how the serial numbers will be for the EPIC? Any guesses?

Mine is #921/early March 2008, got the MX message the day before yesterday.

You did ?! I'm No 500 end of Feb. 2008 and I haven't gotten the message to this day ! What's up ? Although in truth, Since I've decided to go stage 2, I won't be upgrading to M-X quite yet. There is little demand for our Red right now, I can't justify of the upgrade cost and need to save up so we are able to pay for our Epic-X. Still strange you got your e-mail and we didn't get ours though.

Cheers,
Damien

PS I'll go see what's being said in the upgrade thread.

Polls on forums like this are statistically meaningless. It would be great if they actually were useful, but since anyone and their mother can join the forum, then anyone on the forum can place a vote making the information worthless. And with such a small sampling from a questionable source group, one can make up whatever they want with the dubious information.

It would be nice to know how many actually did choose one versus the other, but we will never know unless Red decides they want to make that information public. Because of this, this is nothing more than a WAG.

I doubt Red will ever release any stats on this. They won't even say how many Red Ones there are.

I made it a public poll. You can click on one of the numbers in the votes column and see who voted for what. I see many names I recognize as regular forum contributers. But yeah, it is not a very accurate poll.
