  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What should NAB Reduser Party be this year?

What should NAB Reduser Party be this year?

  • A big party. Who cares about Red gear, let's just have a good time?

  • Keep it the same as last year. Some speakers, some food, some drinks, raffles, and vendors.

  • All I care about are the new cameras. Center it around that.

  • A Red bootcamp with an after party. Keep it interactive.

  • Focus on a specific topic with guest speakers/panel.

I have some grand ideas that I'm formulating and implementing for the NAB event, but some people have asked me to reconsider some of the the things that were done last year. So it got me thinking, maybe I should check in with everyone who will be going and ask what you want it to be. I'm only one guy, with one perspective. Maybe it's not in line with what others would like the event to be.

So, vote in the poll and I'll take that into consideration.

only problem is the poll only allows for one answer. Personally, I'd love to see breakouts for FCP workflow questions/issues, a 4K film festival on a HUGE screen, then again maybe do some of it same as last year with speakers, door prizes, food, but in a larger venue. Also, keep it interactive. It was so good to meet and chat with everyone, one night was really not enough. Maybe split it up somehow?

Hehe... I plan on doing that, regardless of there being a reduser party or not. :biggrin:

Fine looking and talking women (instead of a sward fight -with you guys :nerd:)
something screened on RedRay in 4k
a working proto of Scarlet
a working proto of Epic
and a ride to my hotel! ;)

Why can't it be a Red Film Fest with gear, models, alcohol, and then 1000's of questions followed by gear, models and more alcohol.

It's got to be a lot easier than launching a new camera and turning an industry on its ear in just 3 short years.....

Too many good choices. Not to belittle any of them...

But number 1 seems about right.... Of course we all care about RED gear, but I think after all of the accomplishments, perhaps a standard party with RED Footage playing on a Huge Screen, Music, and a couple of workstations in separate rooms for people to demo new toys would be a deserving change this time around.

Do I hear cigar bar, too? ;-)

The more we geek out with toys & tech the more alcohol we'll have to use on the models to keep them from walking out the door.

I look over at my attorney, to see if he's noticed the bats. He doesn't move. Oh well, he'll see them soon enough . . .
 
And congratulations to Doug for the perfect obscure reference that also brings this back to Las Vegas, where NAB is held.

I went to NAB last year, but didn't go to the party. It sounds as if I missed out.
 
Need some time to digest the news that RED won't be at NAB. Not sure yet how it affects things. It's probably even more valuable now to get feedback of who's going and what everyone is into this year.

I might just have to spill the beans early on what I was hoping to do. Might get a few of you back on the plane heading to Vegas. :-)
