Hey,

I want to sell my Scarlet Mysterium-X with side SSD and EF mount.
What would be a fair price to ask for (it's in very good condition)?

I'll try to sell it locally first (Germany) but really have no idea what it's still worth or what people would be willing to pay for.

Thanks!

It's difficult and will not be satisfying for you. Now there is RAVEN and then the simple math would tell you to set the price for the brain below what Scarlet-Dragon minus Scarlet-Dragon-Upgrade costs. Everything else would make no sense for a buyer.

Thanks Maik.

Scarlet paid off itself long time ago so no problem - I'm not looking for big profit here.

Do they do Scarlet-X to Dragon updates anymore?

I'm actually just looking for a price where people would still be tempted to buy it, despite the amount and quality of newer offers.

How about 3.000€?
Too much, not much enough?

I also have a Scarlet-MX I'm about to sell in the nearby future.
I actually think 3000€ is a fair price!

Scarlet Dragon has a trade in value of $2500, so a Scarlet MX is likely to be worth less than that.

Thats not correct a a Dragon M has a 10k USD trade in value. Now if you can find such... I think you should buy it as they normally sell for about twice that. To me scarlet MX got PL mount... or any mount and for that reason it can use the same lenses as bigger cameras. I know for many that is very much a valid point that is far more worth than the price of a raven.

I'd consider an Epic-Dragon for $10k, but I'd definitely get a Scarlet-Dragon for $2500. Shiiit, it could use all my REDmag-Fat media too!

As for the price of Scarlet-X; might be more worthwhile just holding on to it at this point. I've seen a few Brain/SSD/EFmounts go for Sub-$4k, and I'd imagine that margin will dwindle further the closer we get to March. Actually, come to think of it, Scarlet-Dragon could be in for a world of hurt if the "carrot-on-a-stick" upgrade isn't announced until NAB (a month AFTER Raven goes out the door).

I see trade in Values of Epic M as $17,500 or $15,000 depending on date of ordering the upgrade, rather than $10k. Perhaps your looking at the prices in GBP.

Thanks guys!

The funny thing is, good old Scarlet-X still delivers beautiful images, even more so compared to a lot of the new fancy cameras out there. Plus it's been an ultra reliable production camera.

It's just that she doesn't get asked for a dance that often anymore because the younger ones are getting more attention :)
