Hi,

One question.
What monitors work with RED. What I need is a monitor for the Director to view at the same time I am shooting and also for play back.
Any makes, models??
Thanks

Transvideo makes some great monitors that are all HD. Mucho $$ tho

Depends on what size you want to get. Do you want to go HD? or do you think SD would be fine for just framing. Do you want to get into downconverting the HD signal to SD through a box of some sort on the camera?

How much money do you want to spend? and does it need to be wireless?

Thanks for the answer.
well I have a monitor, it is SD. What I could not figure out is how to connect it to the RED, but after reading your Reply I see that down-converting is possible. What boxes do you suggest to down-convert? The monitor I have is a Marshall, it is very good, so I would like to use it.It also cost mucho $$.
What I need it for is framing and viewing. I don't need wireless.

Antonio, I see a lot of 17" Panasonic LH-1760s on set, before this I saw 1700s. Also, the 24” Sony LMD-2450WHD is not as common, but the size is nice. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice I will google them all and see what fits my budget.

well after a fast google search I found all, but the monitors are really mucho $$$. the downconverter does seem like a good deal at 395 USD plus shipping handling and taxes.
I am about to start a production (low low low budget) 6 day shoot, on the first Mozambican film to be shot on a RED and I think I might just get away using my SD Marshall monitor, which has always worked well for me in the past, with the Decimator down-converter.

I was just on a production with this monitor and it did its job. I don't have a lot to compare it too though, but I thought it was pretty good.
