What is the most economical Solution for BELT Battery setup?
I do lots of moving around, I have 4 redvolts but those go quick, So I need another solution.
I thought if I wanted to do hand held or shoulder mount, I could have a vmount batt on the belt.

Im thinking Do it your self

I'm buying:

A Suitable pelli case.
Two 12V AGM MC batteries.
A 24V charger.
A 40V-15V stepdown converter outputting 14.5V 300Amp.
A 4 pin XLR female socket to put in the side of the case.
A 220V input socket for the charger.
Some foam to keep it all in place.
A long male 4 pin XLR cable to lemo epic power connector, like 10 meters long or such.

The I can have a power case standing around and be on a wire shooting. The above does not cost much and I think a lot of times its better to have a heavy long lasting power supply laying on the ground than trying to bring it onto the camera or body.

With big lenses, shoulder rig etc the camera gets quite heavy as it is, then leaving the battery weight on the ground is a great solution. Since most shoots are not done with the camera running all over the place.

Having a battery case that the AC can carry is really good. And the MC or even car batteries are so much more bang for the buck than the batteries we usually buy.

Having two deep cycle 12V batteries connected as + to - creating a 24V source and the step down converter is essential since then you can really empty those two batters out before the camera starts to complain about low voltage.

Also a 24V car chargers does not cost half as much as a "camera battery charger" so it will not only give you huge operating times it will come at a much better price as well...

If you do not want it in a pelli case you can trough it in a rough padded bag, or if you absolutely want to carry the weight on you, then you make it into a backpack with two cables coming out... one to put in the wall for charging, and one going to the camera...

When I done the above I will post some pictures, now it's just in my head. But I got the down converter all ready as we use those for our milo and they work nicely see picture they are available from china for about 30USD.

And the charger is about 80 USD. see: http://www.google.com/products/cata...T-3GNMG2hQfuzIS1Bw&ved=0CGQQ8gIwBQ#ps-sellers

And AGM 12V batteries comes from 30USD - 200USD depending on size and quality.
