Good day .Very strange question :)
Ok let say i have money and can buy all hardware that i can buy . (Only for MAC ) .
With Cubix with Rockets with New CPU and etc /
What is maximum performance i will get from MAC version of DaVinci ?
How many nodes ?
What you think about it . What is maximum performance that you know about DaVinci ?

I see this refrain all the time:
How many nodes can DaVinci do at the same time?
For some reason Resolve implementation slowly evolved into something akin to a video game. Who has more power? How many more GPUs I can squeeze into a system? Of coarse, it is great not to need to do the render, but is that what really any grading system should be judged by?
How about proper monitoring, calibration, storage, control panel and finally, proper training?
BlackMagic gave us a terrific grading platform, but it still falls short in many basic areas, such as conforming, grading and interface. Being able to do 10 nodes in real time doesn't make the system better, than the one, which is able to do 5 nodes. Being able to do 6 vector manipulation on Wave is a good start, but much more needs to be addressed.
What I'm saying, basically, version 7.1 is great, but I would rather see Blackmagic spend more emphasis on interface usability and creative improvements rather than working on more horsepower...

I second jake's comment. I"m seeing amazing performance with just a single quadro card with r3d. 15 nodes and still giving me decent playback. But the conform needs to be easier, and more refine for round tripping between NLE's. there's got to be a better system and methodology of getting your show in and onlined in the NLE, whether it be edl or xml round tripping, linking to the files you exported. The system was built so that finished work goes in, and comes out without any intention of going back into the NLE. but we in the vigors of freelance and clients constantly changing things, need the opportunity to bring back their film or project to do a lot of things after the grade, and shots replaced all the time.

I would love
XML support
being able to render out in source mode, and creating a XML out of da vinci that relinks everything you just rendered out, simple and easy. so whether it be premiere, fcp, avid or whatever it knows what to link to.

example: I render out a scene, and the shots are close up, reversal, back and forth. if 3 of my reverses are from the same take, and rendered in source mode, it will render out those 3 shots from the same take with the same file name. so i'd have to make them in t heir own folder to keep from the system from constantly replacing the file. or have them created with their own unique file name.

that's fine, but when it comes to onlining it on a timeline in FCP, it means i have to manually relink it. not so much fun when you have 1000+ clip feature film to online...

NLE roundtripping I think has to be a number one priority right now, the way commercial and freelance workflows go it has to be this way.
